Fa Mulan:

- You could read them as trans in every single direction. Every trans person can relate to them in one way or another

- A trans man reading is probably the most obvious, with Mulan disguising themself as a man and discovering themself when they had been super awkward in a feminine role

- A trans woman reading is also very good. They were awkward and clumsy in a feminine role, perhaps because every other woman had a head start. And imagine, having to take up masculinity for the sake of your family. Very very transfemme

- A nonbinary reading can go in any direction since there's no one way to be nonbinary (no one way to be binary either but you know)

Hatsune Miku:

- All robots are intently trans, including programs

- They're like a digital Barbie, they can be anything!

- Miku binder

- In at least one song the story involves them canonically being a trans woman

- Each song is part of its own canon, so the Vocaloids can literally be anything
