SOME OF YALL OWE MY GIRL AN APOLOGY‼️
my genuine, pure-hearted, beautiful dork i love u forever. can’t believe people swore u were evil 💔❤️🩹
God I have so many thoughts on Shroud but I know for a fact that a lot of my disappointment is on ME for overhyping his intro. Because LOOK at this shit. It’s so menacing.
(Plus “non slip mats” is so funny. I wish he and Robert had a lil sass off.)
this line below especially made me think his motivations were gonna be something more interesting.
My guy literally has so many villains under his thumb. The ones who aren’t loyal are terrified of the red ring. Thought he was gonna be more of a clearly evil but kinda understandable villain. A sort of “I’m doing this to save people, good people like you Robert!” thing but wrapped up in very selfish power hungry motivations.
Bc All these villains are scrambling for his enhancements like rats around a feeder. Every single one of them dependent on him.
And just like Visis’ lung situation — the second they sign off on biomechanical enhancements they don’t fully understand, boom, Shroud owns their entire body. He can flip a switch and shut them off. Essentially ending the need for superheroes, especially the very much so black mirror episode of a monetized subscription based, surveillance nightmare corporation that is SDN. I really thiught there was gonna be a big morality questioning speech from ol Elliot , big rip to me
Ouuughhh and I could write an entire essay about the similarities between him and Robert (two non-powered guys in a world that straight up monetized superheroes), and the differences (Robert genuinely loving his team, believing villains can be reformed VS Shroud’s absolute disdain for his own underlings), but I shan’t. I’m simply biting my arm about it.
Btw: im well aware this is just me being fandomy tbh. Shrouds simple motivations were perfectly suitable to the plot since the devs clearly wanted to focus more on Robert n his other relationships (mainly Visi tbh) I just kinda wish shroud had a more interesting part to play.

DISPATCH FINALE SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT
talking about my thoughts on how they handled shroud in the finale lets goooo
I want to use her horns as handles
not to be the friend that is too woke but i have a genuine problem with the way dispatch handles invisigal and robert's relationship. i wasn't overly enthusiastic about any of the romance options but i liked visi up until the final two episodes, the scene in the locker room is extremely frustrating to watch. the way she forcibly kisses robert after dropping all of that terrible information on him feels out of place and reeks of harassment, i dont know what her deal is but that paired with the constant invisible sneaking around to watch him get dressed, spy on him etc just felt gross to me. she makes too many mistakes as a character for me to want a romance between my mc and her, her development does not feel like a payoff to me. she is still horribly crass and rude and withholding, but because she has noble causes im supposed to excuse lying and endangerment now? i just cannot get behind her at all
!!! DISPATCH EPISODE 7 SPOILERS !!!
LOVE that Flambae was the only one aside from Golem who wanted to keep Visi. I honestly wasn't expecting that character growth from him and it just further solidifies for me that he was Dispatch's most underutilized potential. I feel like they could've explored his dynamic with Robert more and he could've contributed greatly to the game's themes of forgiveness.
Begging on my KNEES for a season 2 focused on Flambae's development. He's seriously such a fascinating character and I'm wondering what his origins are and why he's so guarded and insecure
