Sherpas are an integral part of top-level mountaineering yet the fatality rate in the industry is far above that of any comparable service sector industry. Despite being a lucrative and comparatively well-paid profession, the families of deceased or injured sherpas are all too often not sufficiently provided for by insurance payouts. In this short but moving clip, a professional climber who engaged a sherpa later killed in an unfortunate accident returns to Nepal to make what she considers to be amends and, hopefully, to effect long-term change.
