Sorry that wasn't clear. I meant that really often women feel like they're competing with each other like "I'm not like other girls." And I feel like there's just a lot of animosity. My friend talks about things in very gender specific terms and that irritates me and she was talking about how girls fighting is so annoying because it goes on forever and I wasn't sure why that annoyed me but I later mentioned how women are really competitive between each other.

I think the patriarchy tells women that we should be competitive with each other when it comes to men, as if they're some sort of ultimate prize.The "I'm not like other girls" mentality plays into this too because the assumption is that the kind of girl *you* are is better and actually more desirable to men than those *other* girls.
