Haymitch sobers up for Katniss, seeing Louella in her, and in that moment finds the chance to help a friend he once failed.

This is really cool, odd casting choices aside (Christoph Waltz as President Snow is great; Zefron as Peeta is not. Watson!Jude Law as Cinna is just hilarious). I've definitely never seen a compilation that incorporated clips from Twilight, Serenity, and Harry Potter in quick succession in a single, coherent narrative. Bonus points for the excellent use of Gladiator's soundtrack and dialogue.

And though I loved Elizabeth Banks in the role, I'm going to have trouble picturing anyone but Kristin Chenoweth as Effie now.

The NYT article is worth reading, but Alyssa's response in particular is the kind of thing that keeps me reading her blog.

Next step: independent, able heroine who doesn't have to choose between two guys. Maybe? Please? (I'd count Hermione if she'd been the title character, but...)
