DIVE REPORT
We checked in with our friends at One Love Ocean Divers to know what’s going on off Potrero shores in that pretty blue ocean we gawk at every day. This is their report from June:
Another great month of diving was had out on the Catalinas during June. The ocean really delivered, not just great visibility and temperature, but a plethora of marine life too. There were the occasional days where strong storms far out in the Pacific Ocean created inhibited visibility and some strong surge, but for the most it was simply awesome. Water temperatures on the surface have been around 28-29°C/82-84°F, dipping in to 26-27°C/78-80°F down at depth. Visibility was hovering around 12-15m/40-50ft, sometimes even greater. As well as some great encounters with whitetip reef sharks and all manner of rays, eels and puffers, June was definitely the month for octopus. Countless sightings of these amazing cephalopods, not hunkered down in there holes but out and about. With colour and shape changes, showing us their awesome capabilities. With some brilliant and rare finds of both seahorse and harlequin shrimp. An excellent time at one love during last month.
Sounds like it’s time to get suited and dip in the water!
