Experience the divine taste of sushi with this delightful combination of fresh avocado, crisp cucumber, and succulent shrimp, all wrapped in seasoned sushi rice and nori seaweed. Perfect for sushi enthusiasts and newcomers alike!
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice. 3 cups water. 1/4 cup rice vinegar. 2 tablespoons sugar. 1 teaspoon salt. 4 nori seaweed sheets. 1 avocado, sliced. 1/2 cucumber, julienned. 1/2 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined. Soy sauce for dipping. Wasabi and pickled ginger for serving.
Instructions: Rinse the sushi rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions. In a small saucepan, heat rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Let it cool. Spread cooked rice onto a baking sheet and drizzle with the vinegar mixture. Let it cool to room temperature. Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top. Arrange avocado slices, cucumber, and shrimp along the bottom edge of the rice. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, sealing the edge with a bit of water. Slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
