Indy's life didn't truly begin until they found their aunt in maple brook. whenever they had some spare time, indy liked to volunteer at jd's farm. which was where they were that afternoon, giving jd a nod as they walk into the barn. "where do you want me today?"

angelo was in need of some new clothes and had dragged alejandro out to ludlow plaza with him with the promise of buying him dinner after. it had felt like a fair trade at the time, but after trying on what felt like the hundredth pair of jeans, he was starting to doubt it. "i'm gonna buy the next pair whether they look good or not." angelo grumbles, his words only half serious. "maybe i should just stick to sweats. those always fit."

santiago had never been the type of boss who hid out in his office every night, much preferring to spend time behind the bar and engage with patrons than behind closed doors. so it was a night like any other at the widow's bite when his gaze falls upon the gentleman sitting at the other end of the bar, making his way over to get his attention. "if it isn't my favorite mayor." santiago teases, a small grin playing on his lips. "always a pleasure. what can i get for you today? your usual, or can i whip you up something new?"

It had been a while since Zane had seen his brother, which was unacceptable in his book. Which was why he had made and packed up dinner and was on the way to Rafael's place with it in hand. Knuckles rapping on the door, Zane waits a moment before calling out, "Open up, it's your favorite brother! I've brought dinner!" He was Raf's only brother, but still. That was beside the point.

"come on, dude. it looks fun," he encouraged through a boyish grin that stretched so wide it made his cheeks ache. he wasn't the dancing type, but it was a bid at fitting into the town that had so far welcomed him in like one of their own. "if it makes you feel better, i'll go first." it was a genuine offer, but between the two of them, it was avi that knew no shame.

he studied the other's features, looking for an ounce of submission. "look, i'm not going to bully you onto a dance floor, but... you should have fun." he met jd's eyes and his smile softened to something less weighted by trouble. "what do you say? you wanna give it a shot?"

Angelo had spent a little more time than he'd like to admit getting ready to meet up with Rafael. Were they going on a date? Honestly, Angelo wasn't one hundred percent sure. Whatever it was, he was glad to see the other outside of Secret Ruins. Finally settling on jeans and a flannel (now that the weather had started to cool off), Angelo makes his way over to the stables, all decked out for the Halloween season. Looking around for Rafael, Angelo half grins when he spots the other man, walking over to greet him. "A haunted house, eh? Was this your big plan to get close to me all along? I suppose I could hold your hand if you're scared."

Their silent agreement to meet up monthly survived another thirty days on the calendar, leaving Oliver tapping his pen on the hardcover book perched on his coffee table as he leaned over and waited for a creak in the floorboards of his hallway and a knock at the door. It was innocent, a catch up over whatever had been keeping them occupied over the course of the last time they saw each other, but Oliver would be lying if he said it wasn't one of the conversations he looked forward to the most. There was something about JD that had always intrigued him, left him wanting more, proven all too well as they went from friends to lovers and back again. While it may have suited the both of them, it didn't mean they couldn't be friendly — the atmosphere around them mostly cordial with Oliver's full intent to keep it that way. "Door's open!" He echoed after the knock, standing up to rush to the kitchen and quickly prepare a drink for the guest as if he hadn't been counting down the moments prior.

his bones had ached for something more than the indoor gym he'd found solace in for a little over a week. his usual central park runs weren't feasible any longer and the man refused to tuck his tail and run without a chance to make things as right as he possibly could.

google had led him to the reserve, a stretch of beautiful land that would surely give him a chance to push himself to the point of exhaustion. it was the only other thing he could think of that could wear him down so thin he'd have no other choice but to sleep it off.

"excuse me," he called out in hopes of grabbing the man's attention. every introduction was a risk — one that he was willing to take sometimes more than others. "i was looking for a good trail. any suggestions?" he offered a soft, disarming smile and hoped for the best.
