     Keeping his materialized form was exhausting. With his master DEAD, he really should not exist anymore. Yet he WILLED himself to stay alive. To STAY in this world. Sometimes he wondered why he bothered. Was there really any POINT to his existence? Wouldn’t it be better - easier - to just... Let go? Muramasa had never surrendered, and he wasn’t going to. He refused to give up on seeing his master again. Though he was dead, his soul... Was going to be reborn, wasn’t it? He could find him again! With increasing desperation, Muramasa held onto this hope. But he was tired. So, so tired. He NEEDED a break. He was afraid that if he took one, he’d disappear. So he chose something in-between. He was going to minimize his physical presence. He wasn’t going to keep forcing himself to stay in his materialized state. His human form, if you will. Letting out a breath, Muramasa closed his eyes. Then he transformed. In the place where the man had stood, a katana fell to the ground. It was snapped in half, the two pieces laying about a feet apart, like they had just been dropped there. In this desolate place... He didn’t think anyone would find him. And - even if they did... WHY would they pick up a broken sword? When he was in this state it was hard to tell just how much time passed. It was almost like SLEEPING. He still had to make somewhat of a conscious effort to exist, but it was minimal. It was relaxing compared to his ‘ human ‘ form. And so he slept.

     Until --- ONE DAY. He was picked up. It jolted him awake. The touch. The unfamiliar feeling of someone HOLDING him. Muramasa stirred inside the blade, and whoever it was that was holding him would feel a sense of power surge through the purple and faded gold suka. He could hardly believe it. He was feeling FINGERS around him! He held his breath ( though, as a sword, he could not really breathe right now anyway ) - waiting... Waiting for the hand to DROP him. Surely, it would?

It was nothing out of the ordinary for him to wander around by himself. Whenever there was a reason for Jin Ling to leave he would mope and do so, it just happend to be one of these days. With his beloved Fairy by his side, he had left home to go back to the other home. Though, he didn’t expect his beloved dog to run off on her own, leaving him standing there for an moment, yelling after her before finally following. He would have to train her better! The thought was repeated as soon as he saw her clinging to the white clad man. He must have caught her attention or else she wouldn’t behave this way. However, this was quite embarrassing for Jin Ling so he rushed over, pulling her away. “Fairy don’t!” he scolded her before he directed his attention to the other. “I’m sorry! I don’t know why she did that. I hope she didn’t scare you?”

For  someone  (  who  at  least  thought  himself  to  be  )  very  well  versed  in  understanding  each  of  the  small  nuances  of  the  expressions  and  behaviors  of  other  creatures,  always  being  one  step  ahead  with  his  plans,  this  Dragon  seemed  to  find  a  certain  difficulty  in  clearly  reading  that  man.  A  human  should  be  easier  to  understand,  right?.  Still,  nothing  less  than  his  sweetest  and  friendliest  face  would  be  displayed.  To  let  only  ths  surface  should  be  enough.

❛❛ It  might  be... ❜❜    Obsidian  gaze  seems  to  drop,  as  if  indicating  a  deeper  reflection  o  the  matter.    ❛❛ Yet  I  believe  it  to  be  also  like  bamboo  ━━━━━━━━━━  that  bends  with  the  strength  of  the  wind;  the  will  of  its  wielder. ❜❜    This  Dragon,  more  than  anyone,  should  know  better:  Destiny  seems  to  have  its  favorites  after  all  ━━━━━━━━━━  And  he  definitely  wasn’t  one  of  them.  Somewhat  amused  yet  cautious  words  carried  nothing  but  genuine  (  yet  questionable  )  shyness  instead  of  any  pleasure  of  disagreeing  with  his  listener.  Obsidian  eyes  now  look  at  the  other  from  a  lower  angle,  they  seem  to  be  fixed  on  him  from  the  beginning,  and  while  the  side-smile  seems  to  acquire  a  more  intense  air  of  reticence  as  an  invitation  follows:     ❛❛ Daozhang  seems  to  have  some  experience  on  the  matter,  perhaps?  I  would  love  to  hear. ❜❜

Ahhh the lovely, the talented Rhys~ Can I just say how in awe I am of your portrayals? So far I’ve written with ... three of your CQL muses? And every one of them has had such a distinct and incredible voice that sets them apart in a really impressive way. It’s hard to run multis and manage to keep portrayals fresh like that and you do just such an amazing job. Also I need to personally thank you for the absolute sass-brigade that is Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji doing anything together. As well as the absolute heart-wrenching love from Wuxian for his mess of a drunk husband, and Xichen for his stubborn little didi. I feel it all so deeply in my chest and it’s such a pleasure to get to write with such excellent renderings.  I adore you, and keep up the excellent work <3

Psyche! Hello my love! You and Huaisang are such lovely rays of sunshine and it’s wonderful having you both in mine and Wangji’s lives. I live for plots where characters have known one another from young ages, deepening ties that might not have been in canon and giving our bbies stronger roots and support networks. I have yet to delve into your other characters so deeply, but Huaisang is a beautiful, elegant soul and they light up the narrative beautifully. I also want to applaud you for your inclusivity in gender and sexuality/romantic expressions with your characters. It’s very brave to take these approaches with canon characters and push for representation, and I think you’re absolutely wonderful for doing so. As a fellow enby, Huaisang has all of my love and support, and so do you. Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to writing with you much more in the future.

Listen, I know it’s kind of our destiny to just hurt each other over and over again, but I’m here to give you some sof feelings. Iron, you got some of my first posts on this blog and you’re still here writing with me —I’m incredibly grateful and lucky for this. Thank you so much for sticking through me figuring out my disaster of a son, and for giving him such a loving and supportive brother to help him figure out life as a new dad. Writing the posts between Xichen and Wangji through various points in their lives have been one of my favorite sets of interactions here so far, and it’s really been invaluable to helping me establish a sense of my character and how he interacts with his family and those around him. Not to mention his dynamic with his poor husband who can barely get him to rest long enough to heal up — what a saint.  You are such a gem of a person and I really treasure the time and effort you’ve given me, and can’t wait to bring you more sweet sweet pain cherish your friendship with sof and respectful things that don’t hurt at all <3

PANDAAAAAAAA~  Bby you’re marvelous. I hope you know that. Really and truly. Sometimes I see your tags and you seem so sad, and it hurts my heart to think you might not know how incredible of a person and how talented of a writer you are. Those are not empty words, I genuinely mean them — I am in awe of you and everything you write, and read your posts over and over when you send them to me. You care deeply about your muses and it shows, and you also care deeply about your friends and I feel it. Getting excited with you over things has been one of my favorite experiences, and seeing you on my dash is always cause for joy, even if you don’t have the energy to write at that time (which is 100% valid and okay, btw. We all have to be kinder and more patient with ourselves about this.) Thank you for being my friend and writing partner. I am honestly so fortunate to know you and interact with you, and I can’t wait to scoop Xie Yun up in A’Fei’s arms and cherish him forever just as much as Wangji cherishes his Wuxian <3 Love you friend.

Wraith and their Xingchen are just flawless. Everything from aesthetics to verbiage to just how wonderful and kind they are as a person, it’s all so incredible to behold. Our interactions sort of started out with Sinday “eh sure why not” shenanigans (like they do) but honestly one of the most sincere and beautiful relationships came out of it that I’m just floored by. You give Xingchen such a grace and beauty that is palpable and inspiring, it’s impossible not to love and admire you both. Thank you for writing with me, and for accepting my stoic son (soon to be sons, bweheheh)

Pain rumbled through him, to be fair, Zizhen was not all that convinced that his condition was serious. It was annoying more than anything else. People needed to leave him alone, but Zizhen was more often or not like a cat, he was a strange breed that when hurt wanted to retreat into isolation rather than letting anyone around him help. There was only so long you could hide such injuries, only so long his golden core could compensate for. While the journey home hadn’t been easy he had made it home, only to come to terms with the fact he felt like death. Sat cross legged on the bed, he leaned forward, the hacking couch drew blood, the Sect leader was unwell, maybe it was pure dumb luck that he decided having skilled people in his household was important to him, otherwise there wouldn’t be a doctor around at all.  

The skirmish on the edge of the Sects territory wasn’t with another Sect, thankfully, Zizhen had no desire to start a war, nor were any of his peers ready to return to the days of Sects turning on each other and mass murder. Bandits. They posed a much bigger threat right now. They had simply ambushed the wrong man, while Zizhen had got out alive, that couldn’t be said for the criminals, though he supposed it was one less problem the border and the villages long it were going to have to deal with. Good riddance.

“I sent her to get tea, not you.” Zizhen replied with a hint of a sense of humour, he hadn’t asked for the doctor but, sometimes his own staff were willing to not do as they were told for the greater good – part of him thought he should have been proud of that. It was a good thing though, Zizhen did need him even if he didn’t want to want him. Dark brown eyes flickered from the doctor to the table, annoyed and in a mood, but, he relented. He knew when to give up. “Do you want tea?” Well, better way to break the ice than a moody silence.

There are so many with such stories. Grab a handful in the sea of shinobi, who have all been raised into wars that weren’t theirs, used by people who should have protected them, and treated as less than dirt by everyone else. Konohagakure was to be a place like a shelter, a safety net, but sometimes the battles fought in court felt like various bottom lines were being tested. There were many powers in and outside the village who wished to plunge the clans back into a certain darkness. At times, even Uchiha Madara found it hard to have faith in the dream. But he shan’t rest until it was, or he will die trying.

          ❝Do you know, shinobi are the lowest in the system.❞ Madara started somberly. ❝To the civilians and the aristocrats, we are only worth how many we can kill.❞ It was the harsh truth of the Ninja World, something Senju Hashirama would never speak on publicly so as not to diminish the will of the clans to bend together. But not Madara. Madara was not one to shy away from the truth. It was among the many reasons he wasn’t well liked. ❝But you are in Konoha now. Everyone made this village happen, despite what a certain Senju might propagate. Everyone made this place happen—the ones who did not matter to the world at large. Here, you will not be the only one. I’m sure you can mingle and find brothers and sisters, Xingchen.❞
