When villagers don't suggest the right pwp in the diving trick...
This is how I use the diving trick to get PWP suggestions! ^o^
I've had the New leaf game for a couple of years and I still don't have many public works choices for my town. How do I get more of those?
Basically, playing the game longer in one sitting increases the chances that a villager will ping! you to suggest a PWP. You can also do the diving trick to increase the chances of a PWP being suggested!
I tried the trick to get Pwp's *hide in one corner in your town for 5 minutes in the ocean* but I can't get any. Is there anything I'm missing?
People often repeat the PWP trick for half an hour or more before getting a request. You might not have immediate success, but keep trying! Remember that the diving trick is actually a way to get pings, not PWP requests. As long as you’re being pinged, your method is correct. After that, it’s just a matter of perseverance.
It’s also said that your likelihood of getting a PWP request from a villager is proportional to your friendship with that particular villager, so perhaps you could try boosting your relationship.
An idea for getting more PWPs....from certain villager types
I've been getting a question lately of how to get desired PWPS without other villagers interfering with the PWP you want from certain villager types.
Here's what I do.
Time travel to when your preffered wakes up or before they go to sleep.
Use the diving trick.
[Get a diving suit from the island, wear it in your town, then swim to the edge of the screen so that none of the villagers can see you. Wait 5-10 minutes in the water, then go back to find your preferred villager.]
Because I want mainly PWPs from my cranky villager at the moment, I time travel to 3:30 in the morning. At this time, cranky villagers are the only ones who are awake.
I do the diving trick at this time and after a try or two, my villager suggests a new PWP.
Villagers who sleep earlier, like normal and jocks, also wake earlier, so set your clock to just after they wake, so you won't have to run around a lot.
For example, normal villagers wake up at 6:00am, so set your clock close to this time [like 6:01]. In this case, it would be better to set your clock to a time before 7:00am as this when jocks wake up.
Good luck C:
Today's attempt to get PWP ideas with diving trick
Chops wanted me to change his greeting
Daisy wanted to call me Dr F
Daisy wanted me to tell her what I thought about her
Pashmina wanted me to get her perfect fruit

Can villagers ping you asking to move if you do the diving reset trick?
They can, but only if they were already thinking about moving. Whether or not a villager decides to move is generated when you load the game on a new day. Doing the diving trick will not trigger a villager to move, but you can use it to get an already moving villager to ping you if they haven’t already talked to you about it.
How do you do the reset trick to make villagers ping you?
The reset trick doesn’t really work to make villagers ping you. However, you can try the diving trick for pings! If you're seeking PWP requests, try filling your pockets with tools/money/shells/flowers to eliminate any buy/sell/trade offers! If you know that a certain villager is moving and they won’t ping you, you can also save and quit the game and then start it up again. That sort of ‘refreshes’ your villagers and gives you the chance to walk past your mover until they ping.
