Oh Happy day, this place closed months ago and was put up for sale. This great Greek family just reopened Monday, we had to visit. Yes same family, Ma & Pa with the daughter welcome all those long time customers with a smile. Thanks Sidney our superstar waitress, you a keeper. Check they Facebook page everyday for Specials. Had a outstanding sandwich named the Smokestack OMG. Corned Beef, Ham n Turkey on Toasted thick Greek Bread with Cheese and sauce. A true gut stuffer, could barely finish it. She had the half Deep Fried Chicken spot on delicious. Marvelous Bean n Ham Soup made in house. This folks a Downriver Gem , place been a restaurant over 80 years with different names. Easy to find just a hundred yards off I-75 the Rockwood exit. Spotless clean everything and friendly staff, a must visit. Polish Day WOW super Polish Combo be Stuffed Cabbage, Pierogi made in house mega Stuffed. Dearborn Brand Polish Sausage n Sauerkraut a real meal deal. Daughter got a plate with 2 great Stuffed Cabbage, Taters n Veggies. She had a Double Chicken topped with Sauteed Onions n Mushrooms. Been a while since last visit, going back soon. Back cruising the Dixie Highway old route South prior to I 75 opening in the 60's. Old school opening in early 60's never change a thing, still got a original employees, damn she's old. Place packed with regulars giving us the stranger eye's. Starting with Hamburger Soup, Chicken topped Dixie house salad, Hot Chopped Sirloin Sandwich, County Fried Steak and order of B&G. Oh yeah a Double Damn Cheddar Bacon Cheeseburger. Yeah they remember me from visit a year ago although no one gives a crap. So excited to visit after reading the great reviews around the web. Truly a hidden gem that's been around 60 years under various owners with hundreds of regular local customers filling the dining area everyday. A beautiful decorative dining room spotless clean with a fun friendly staff smoothly working together. The owner with helper on the grill plating up fantastic meals. Super delicious house made soups. We had a fun brunch today. Me the Chicken Fried Steak n Eggs a wonderful dish I so Loves also full order Biscuits n Gravy spot on. Those Beef Tips over Egg Noodles rule on the special board every Saturday. A Deep Fried Chicken dinner a classic diner style was very good. We all agreed a return visit a must. The folks make you feel right at home.
