Esse é para brochura capa mole, mas serve para qualquer caderno na verdade que tenha capa mole. E não importa o tamanho e a quantidade de folhas.
Materiais:
1. Caderno de brochura de capa mole;
2. Régua;
3. Tesoura;
4. Lápis ou caneta;
5. Papel cartão da cor desejada;
6. Estilete.
Uma folha grande de papel cartão dá para fazer 2 capas para 2 cadernos de brochura grande. Quanto a caderno pequeno, cabe bem mais. Mas tenha atenção, que isso é a contagem com a folha em forma de retrato em que o lado maior fica em pé. Caso escolha uma estampa que não siga isso e queira deixar ela rente a altura do caderno, vai dar apenas 1 capa para caderno grande.
Passos:
1. Tire a capa do caderno de forma inteira, pra isso vai usar a ponta da tesoura para abrir o clipe por dentro do caderno. E após isso, do lado de fora, vai colocar o estilete entre o clipe e o caderno e puxar com calma e cuidado até sair tudo.
2. Agora com a capa tirada, a gente vai colocar sobre o papel cartão e deixar ele bem rente em duas bordas e somar mais uns 3 centímetros a mais nas outras duas bordas para não haver perigo de faltar capa.
Aí é só contar com a régua e traçar uma linha reta. Depois é só cortar. Tem que ficar assim (imagens abaixo), a capa de papel cartão vai ficar um pouquinho maior que a capa original.
3. Note que nas imagens abaixo em cada borda sobra um pedacinho. Deixe o caderno bem alinhado.
4. Segure a mão firme sobre esse caderno e comece a dobrar a outra parte por cima desse caderno. Vai devagar e verificando se estão alinhados. Se tiver tudo ok, aperte com força pra fazer a lombada.
5. Após fazer a lombada, alinhe e segure firme. Agora vem a parte bem chatinha, que é furar essa capa nova usando os furos do caderno. Pra isso, vai abrir o caderno no meio de forma alinhada e furar com a agulha mais grossa que tiver. Tenha calma e paciência nessa hora.
Faça apenas nos buraquinhos de um dos grampos. O outro vai fazer depois.
5. Agora é a parte mais chata que tem, que é colocar o grampo na capa primeiro e ir colocando as folhas com cuidado nesse grampo. Aconselho a ir colocando algumas folhas aos poucos para facilitar. E sempre fique de olho, pois às vezes só uma das pontas do grampo sai pro outro lado da folha.
6. Depois disso tudo, feche o grampo com ajuda da tesoura. E vamos fazer os furos do segundo grampo e repetir o árduo processo. Esse segundo grampo é bem mais difícil e precisa de mais paciência.
7. Ao fazer tudo, aperte mais a capa e pode até colocar um peso em cima se quiser. Eis nosso caderno pronto e exclusivo:
Se quiser enfeitar com adesivos, fique a vontade. Dá também para encapar com contact caso não tenha o papel cartão do seu desejo. Mas nunca encape com papel comum que precisa passar cola ou usar fita, vai ficar estufado e deformado (experiência própria).
Nota; Não jogue fora a capa original do caderno, vai servir de molde para outros. Aconselho a sempre fazer nas mesmas medidas para ficar padronizado.
Nota 2: Para cadernos em espiral, só vai precisar tirar a espiral, medir a capa deixando alguns centímetros e depois ir numa gráfica pedir para furarem. No fim, coloque a espiral e tá pronto.

The quick update is that it’s 2021, we’re still in the covid-19 pandemic, and after being forced leaving my job at the most beautiful intergenerational community technology center ever, running away to Aruba for 10 days and then two weeks later to Mexico for a month, and finally getting out of my 3 year saturn return (whew!) I’ve decided to go back to school 😝. I’m getting my DIY PHD in something like technology and new media applications for community empowerment movements (😂 I just made that up! so it will probably change on a weekly basis haha). I started on January 4th, 2020 and so far the schedule is bomb and the syllabus is cute and I’m excited to see how this evolves, shapes, grows, and what I take away from it. Over the next several months, I’ll be documenting my classes, process, progress, and insights here (hopefully 🤞). Keep reading to see my course schedule, what I’ll be studying this semester and why I’m doing this.
I will be using this space to document each class, project, learnings, and findings. Sometimes these posts may long/insightful, other times they may just be notes so I can remember things later. I’m trying to get better at documenting my process, and that’s what this is all about enjoying, being present in, and learning from the process. Not only am I the eager student but I’m also the eager professor so I will be developing my syllabus, assignments, and a process for evaluation (!) as I go. So let’s get started with the basics.

A little bit about why I am doing this...
2020 was a crazy year for us all. For me, it involved leaving my dream job 9 months into the year after experiencing months of horrible toxic masculinity from a new employer. This was the year the Earth threw us Covid-19 and was like, “I tried to tell y’all to stop with your fuck shit that is destroying us all so you know what, I’m gonna kill you now and in order to stay safe you have to stay inside and think about how to create a new world that actually works for the Earth and for the people.” So I listened and now I’m thinking. In December, around the time of the Great Conjunction and Saturn leaving Capricorn, I went back and reread old journals from my three year Saturn Return, to reflect on how much I’ve grown. Except I went back even further. And I realized that there have been project ideas and skills I’ve been wanting to learn for years that I haven’t gotten the courage to pursue yet. So I wanted to take the time to learn them and finish them. And in order to do that, I knew I needed to have some kind of schedule. So I decided to pretend I was in school and write down what the courses would be if I really were. And viola, I put the classes on my calendar and I started after the holiday break. I have some project goals and outcomes that would be nice to have come out of this time, but I’m really just here to learn, to practice, and be in the process not focused on the end result. This concept is so new to me, so I’m really happy and excited to be here, to have the opportunity available to me right now (disclaimer: I have unemployment and some savings) and to see where this takes me next. But I’m excited for this ride.
