Working on my wood side leather bag. As expected, if not as hoped, I have encountered many problems.
The most notable is that I didn’t cut the leather strip for the body long enough, so I will have to stitch more on. Annoying, but not the worst.
Also annoying is that these upholstery nails I got from Lowes are… Not Good. I realize this ash wood is very hard- it bent and deflected good steel flooring nails when we were laying it as floorboards- but when I try to pull out a broken nail, and end up drawing and deforming the wire of the shaft with my little jeweler’s pliers, thats a shitty nail. I drilled pilot holes and everything, the wood is just hard and the nails suck.
Also added small pockets to the inside sides, and a divider for the main bag. My divider is too long, so Im going to have to cut that a stitch it back together shorter.
Over all, very please. Yall, this gonna be SO cool when it’s done!
