The funny thing about Ansem TW is that, in the Kingdom Hearts Character's Report books, Nomura says that DiZ was intentionally written to seem like a total villain as a red herring.

Looking at the fandom response to him... Mr. Nomura sir I feel like you may have overdone it just a little bit.
