Dan Caballero alias DJ Dex también conocido como Nomádico es un DJ y productor Salvadoreño, actualmente viviendo en Los Ángeles. Él es militante del legendario colectivo Underground Resistance con el código UR061 y cuenta con 4 lanzamientos. Mezcló la segunda parte del Interstellar Fugitives en 2005 y es dueño de su sello Yaxteq, así que es un honor tenerlo como el 2do invitado de nuestra serie Vicariomix.

1. Hola Dan ¿cómo estás? ¡Por favor cuéntanos acerca de este mix! 

Decide hacer un House mix con sabor de Chicago y Detroit incluyendo artistas como Los Hermanos, Rick Wade, D-Knox, Jon Dixon y mas. Tambien unos exclusivos del nuevo EP de Esteban Adame en Yaxteq y un remix que acabo de terminar para el grupo Colombiano Kombilesa Mi.

2. ¿Cuándo comenzaste a ser DJ? 

Empece a los diez y seis años colectando vinilos y trabajando con uno grupo de amigos. Hicimos fiestas en el gimnasio de la escuela, unas quinceañeras, etc. Pero empece colectando música en cassette y grabando musica del radio a los doce años!

3. ¿Cuál fue tu primer gig?

Mi primer gig en un club fue en ese mismo tiempo. Alquilamos una noche en un club, hicimos promoción en la escuela, y llegaron muchos de nuestros compañeros. Me acuerdo que fue la primera vez que me dio nervios usando un monitor para mezclar porque el sistema era profesional y fuerte! No me fue bien!! jajaja...

4. ¿Cuál es tu fiesta favorita en la que has tocado?

En 2006 Underground Resistance hico un gira de Japon por dos semanas para Interstellar Fugitives 2. Pasamos por Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto y Kobe. Todas los noches fueron especial por diferentes razones incluyendo una visita de Moodymann en Osaka y compartiendo el escenario con DJ Krush en Kobe!! Pero eh tenido muchas noches buenísimas desde Paris en el Rex Club hasta Rio de Janeiro en Dama De Ferro y muchas fiestas underground aqui en Los Angeles especialmente con mis amigos del Black Lodge.

5. ¿Quién es tu DJ favorito? 

Para mi Jeff Mills, Claude Young Jr. y Derrick May están empatados. Son diferentes y distintos pero todos saben controlar la pista de baile.

6. ¿Y tu productor favorito? 

Sin duda Mad Mike Banks porque ha hecho tantos clásicos de diferentes estilos. Es el Maestro.

7.  ¿En qué lugar te gustaría tocar después de que todo vuelva a la normalidad? 

Ya sabes! Tenemos una noche en Tijuana esperándonos para Sunday Sunday!

8. Por último, cuéntanos qué es lo que se viene con Yaxteq? 

Durante la pandemia en 2020 salió el disco del productor Hondureño Ritmos con asistencia del legendario Lee "Scratch" Perry y nuestro amigo Jon Dixon. Luego para 2021 tenemos el proximo EP del gran Esteban Adame el "Chicano Boombox" EP.
