to say that working odd jobs here and there was tiring was an understatement. yuji felt like she could sleep for the next 72 hours, but sadly, life would never allow her such a break. if she wanted to get through school, she needed to take whatever jobs that she could get, which wasn’t easy to do on top of the schoolwork that she had to finish. was it worth it? she hoped it was. but life was too short to live with regrets. she was determined to finish school, something that no one else in her family did. perhaps that was why they were left in the economic situation that they were in.
the tights on her legs felt suffocating in the summer heat. she just wanted to rip them off, but doing that on the bus was probably not a proper lady-like thing to do. maybe she needed to consider what the weather was like before she headed out next time, she thought to herself as she outstretched her arms. the idea of sleeping on the bus ride suddenly came to her, as she smiled enthusiastically to herself. plus, the seat next to her was open which meant that she could maybe even take up just a tiny bit more leg room beside her.
but all those plans changed when a male plopped himself down right beside her. out of all the seats he could have taken, why did it have to be next to hers? she thought to herself, sighing softly as she moved her legs back to her own personal space. maybe she could still try and sleep. no, there was no way that she could properly take a nap in front of a good-looking guy like the guy who had just sat himself down.
