The Dark Knight Strikes Again is a comics that will inevitably disappoint if you go in expecting the same level of enjoyment as The Dark Knight Returns.
But if you’re a Batlantern shipper, I think it's worth reading because of Hal’s portrayal there.
In DKSA, Hal is portrayed as a god who became disillusioned with humanity and left Earth. And Bruce is the one who calls that god back down to Earth.
Bruce knows all too well how to reach Hal—the one way that always works: using his guilt, his shame, as a prod.
The fact that Bruce begged Hal not to leave was honestly so hard to believe that it made me stop and reconsider what the word "beg" means.
Not to mention that when Hal abandoned everyone on Earth, Bruce was the only one he left an address for.
