This is hopelessly off topic for this blog, and I apologize, but how am I just now learning there was a weird French variety skit/comedy show(?) that used the 1990s Donkey Kong 3D TV show models???

Like its literally just a show that uses the Donkey Kong TV show models but it *isnt* Donkey Kong and all the characters have different/various names.

How the hell did they get the licensing for those models? Can I like just pay Bethesda to let me use Oblivion NPC models in a car commercial??

So, a little known fact about Donkey Kong: Yes, there was a cartoon. But in France only, around the end-90s, there was a programmation named: ‘’La planète de Donkey Kong’’ where DK was hosting with live action, then ‘’DKTV’’ . where it was the complete DK cast as fake show hosts presenting the programmation and sometimes got their own skits where they were parodying medias. 

If you know french at least a little, just go watch some footage of it. It’s even more awkwardly hilarious than the cartoon.
