I drew these very quickly cus I'm nauseous but yeah here's Roach (she picked that name herself) she has not slept in her whole life (which is why I drew her sleeping) and would make a great human rogue for DnD, she likes to run (from things too, yes) and is so tired she forgot all her other personality traits (someone please help her) and Fever, who is a LITTLE BABY DRAGON WHO'S A GOOD DRAGON YES YOU ARE! YOU ARE! oh you can speak. You're as intelligent as a very well mannered eight year old. Oh. Sorry.

🙈 What, if any, aspect of your OC is a little slice of you put down on paper? A little quirk, personality trait, mannerism, view of the world, etc.?

Roach is very tired all the time and has some trouble perceiving things because of that, like her brain is full of static. Hob feels very disconnected from his body, and can't find it in himself to associate it with himself, more than in a technical sense. Fen is just very emotional overall tbh. Annd Fever is just a little creacher (tiny) and a little guy overall (with wings) (tiny guy.)

😎 Pick one thing about your OC and describe it in detail. (their smile, their eyes, the way they walk, their voice, etc.)

I imagine Roach's hands very clearly. She doesn't eat as much as she should but is naturally broadly built, so it only shows up under her eyes. But her hands are square, and rough and her palms are always sooty, it's worn in, she spends so much time climbing. Hob is similar actually. There's a point about that in one of the last scenes, how Roach can't help but notice they both have similar hands, his stained just like hers, with the nails bitten and pulled down to a bloody mess. It makes him feel just a little bit more human to her, which is uncomfortable to realize as he still very much wants her dead.

As for Fen, he tries to incorporate some level of drama into almost everything he does, for fun. How he moves and talks. But he walks with a limp, and he can't hide it, which bothers him. Hence, he's learned how to swagger with a limp, and that together with how much he gestures makes for a person that, while quite short in himself, takes up space. He likes it that way. Fever has... Just really big eyes. Cute, sure, but like their paws, a bit disproportionate to the rest of them. They're yellow slit pupils, and they blink one eye at a time, and very rarely, so imagine a big old puppy reptile blank staring at you and... Yeah.

17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. The world the story is set in works like this: eveyrthing is pulled inwards. Because dragons in this universe have the ability to influence reality with almost no rules, they tend to attract, well, stuff. Magic, energy, just things happening. They surround themselves with creation and destruction, chaos. But ever since the dragons stopped flying and crept down into the nest to hide from the world, things have started to move towards it. And now eveyrthing there is, the vast majority of the flora and fauna, the people, the culture, the civilization, the magic, has all gotten bunched up in one spot. Very few things exist outside the outer walls of the city they call Chaos. It gets weirder the further into the heart of the city you go. This is more subtext than it is text in the story though, so it feels nice to talk about it. The story does explore the fact that people in Chaos can sort of feel the city, that it affects itself and premonitions/gut feelings/a sort of sixth sense is an actual thing you develop after living there, or at least inside the inner gates, for a while. Roach and Hob are both really good at this. Fen is not.

25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story? Not a detail per se, but Fenrir sometimes acts pushy and a bit annoying, exercising power on purpose in the hope that Hob, usually the subject of this, will push back, preferably really hard. He's testing him... It's his excuse for flirting. This of course goes right over the head of poor Hob who really doesn't understand subtextual social stuff at all. Mostly it just makes him confused. No they will never solve this. No this also isn't in the actual story so far. Might add, who knows.

26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place? Never! I love my characters an unfair amount. They're like my best friends. I actually imagine that I talk to them a lot, let them hold imaginary conversations, try to imagine their voices and body language as clearly as I can. Every time I write a line of dialogue, I read it in their voice in my head automatically just to check that it sounds right. When I have issues with their characterisation I talk it over with them to try to solve it. Odd, sure, but it works!

37%. Does your character tend to blame or punish others for their own emotions? Naw. Or if she does it's an accident. She's tired enough that if she did she wouldn't notice. Usually and if she could have her way she would keep as much of it on the inside as possible and even so, if she on the rare occasion wants something to blame other than chance, it's always herself.

38%. Is your character empathetic, and tends to be influenced by the emotions of others? Yep! Basically the core of her being at this point. It's a personality trait that manages to shine through even though she's scared and tired to the bone. It's the reason she decides to help Fever, too.
