4t2 EP19 Face Paints converted

Not much to say, these are pretty straight forward conversions using the awesome Tattooer by the awesome @paluding 😄 Initially I wanted to do two things with these: 1) release the set for Halloween, but I ended up running out of time ; and 2) make the first two face paints glow in the dark using @crispsandkerosene's edits of the Sim Shaders. Unfortunately I discovered those don't support the SimSkin shader (which is the one used for makeup and overlays), so I also had to give up on that. But maybe in the future, who knows?

For all ages (including babies, I didn't test it though)

Well, my old account got booted out of Tumblr because I was using a VPN and I can't get it back for some reason... So, here I am now. A hair conversion I did a while ago, but never got into publishing it since I thought it wasn't really good enough? The hair sometimes stretches and clips, but I decided to just wing it and publish now. I also tried to make it in Poppetv2 and NHS colors but I don't know if it's really successful, either way they're compatible to use all together. Also, I just found out that if I put my link under the cut, it can be updated and reblogs also followsuit I think. So, a nifty trick (especially since I'm always undecided, and if I ever want to update this.

Latmos Edits Stuff #1

Don't know if this will end up being a thing, but I guess it doesn't hurt to give it a proper name so I can tag it accordingly. When you see this title, it means stuff isn't mine, I'm just sharing whatever edits I did.

I recently downloaded these, and noticed they could be repo'd, so I did that, and then noticed another thing… you get the gist.

These are 4t2 conversions of the hedge fences (by AdonisPluto) and gate (by @hugelunatic).

More details on changes under the cut:

Gate

Removed shine and set DiffCoef to "1,1,1" so it doesn't get darkened

Disabled the sound from opening/closing the gate when Sims go through it (since it didn't make sense in this case)

Made the bounding box (clickable area) match the mesh (it was using the one from the cloned Maxis Iron Gate).

Made a recolor using the "flower" texture of the fences (but incorporated it into the gate's package)

Fences

Repo'd all variants to the gate

Changed catalogue descriptions and prices so they match the original TS4 items

Changed "Group" value on the two tall variants because they were not showing up as CC from having a non-custom Group

All GUIDs were preserved, so should replace the original versions in your games. Obviously, you should not use both versions! I also renamed the file names, so it will NOT prompt you to replace.

Tip: You might notice from the screenshot that the fence casts a shadow even when the gate is placed on it. If you want to get rid of it, place the gate using moveobjects in-between two fences (leaving a gap for the gate). The gate will lose it's functionality (Locking it to prevent Sims from passing does nothing), but at least the shadow will be gone.

4t2 SP59 Dress for TF, AF and EF

Hope I'm not too late to the party? 🤭 I'm joking, I know I am. When the kit dropped and I saw this Bella inspired dress, I had to have it in my Sims 2! And just in time before the re-releases? Yep!

I even made the premade girlies pose for the preview 💅🔪🌹 Hope you like it, I had fun doing it. Bonus points for those who can spot the reference used for Bella's pose 😎 (it's probably not that obvious)

This conversion isn't 100% faithful to the original mesh. I wasn't a big fan of the skirt's shape, so I changed it to be more fitted to the body. Unfortunately that also means more clipping, I decided I was OK with the trade-off. Not a fan? @/lucilla-sims shared her own conversion of this dress just one day before me, you might like hers better 😉

The shoes are an edited version of @/bunsblr's Pointy Pumps, credit goes to them for the original mesh!

Latmos Edits Stuff #2 @miniculesim's 4t2 Alien Bun hair mesh

This one was a small project… originally. I asked @brandinotbroke if per chance I could take a look at a mesh they had mentioned wanting to use as a DR, but were not looking forward "animating" the mesh. I mainly wanted an excuse to learn how to do it with Blender. Turns out it wasn't too hard (thanks to this and this tutorial 🌼). But then, I saw the polycount and felt it could be smaller, and went downhill from there on out 😂 Anyways, list of changes under the cut:

Polycount reduction from 17K to around 8K (more than half!)

Separated the mesh into two subsets.

Re-converted for TF. Converted for AM, TM and CU.

Naturally, animated (mg. hair physics) the mesh

Smoothed out some of the weights (minimal)

Swapped the textures for better quality ones (extracted from TS4)

New package files using "my" method of file optimization. Shared resources for available ages/genders are now separated into a file with prefix "REPO".

This means this version is standalone from Minicule's original! Sadly there was too much changed to keep it a mesh edit only.

… quite a lot in the end 😅 All credit still goes to Minicule, since they're the one who adapted the mesh to TS2 head. Check out their version here (and drop a heart too)!

As a bonus, I'm providing an alternative version that's repositoried to one of @platinumaspiration's DR hairs. This one in particular. This is because the original mesh by LadyKendalSims is based on a mesh by EA, that was used in the DR 4t2 Hair collection. So if you have that, save yourself a few KBs, and download the repo'd version. 🙂

It's been a while since I posted. I haven't played Sims 2 in a while too. I've been trying to convert a new hair for a while though, but then my HDD died on me and lost all progress... AI companies taking all the memory hardware doesn't help either. Though, I've been trying to get back on track, hopefully with no problems. I'm already so tired today. I've been trying to make this new terrain for a while. Just what seems to be a volcano next to a beach, I was reminded of where I live though it's more so mountains. I'm not the best at road layout, so if anyone has a suggestion on better way to arrange them, feel free to. Also, would love to know a good place to put downloads for alternatives, other than SFS and MTS, Simblr.cc is best for download speed and upload so far for me. I hope you enjoy. There will also be another terrain by me later.

4t2 EP17 DressWings for TU, AU and EU

Happy New Year! Here's something I started working on since early december, and then @/platinumaspiration beat me to it 😆 We both went at it in different ways, so I'm sharing nevertheless!

Similarly to my conversion of the patient gowns, this dress comes for both genders and the textures are shared as well. I remapped the female mesh to fit the male UV space, trying my best to prevent stretching, not always succeeding especially around the armpits. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend recoloring this version with patterned textures (platasp's version might be better for that), but with solid textures, the stretching isn't noticeable 🙂

To me, this gown reads as sleepwear, therefore I paired it with slippers from TS4 (EF90 Babouche) that I converted especially for this ; and obviously categorized the outfit as Pyjamas.

This time around I had fun with the preview (I made the poses!!), but please note it was rendered with Blender (I didn't have the courage to make the poses into a box 😂). I did a swatch with in-game pics to make up for it, found down below!

*'SolidBlueLight' was recreated using a swatch available only for YF (in TS4) as reference, this is due to the difference in textures between male and female. Result differs slightly from that texture.
