As she scuffed the bottom of one boot along the porch of the Iris cabin, Devin was struck out of the blue with an odd worry that maybe she should have brought flowers. She was just starting to eye up the half-trampled patch of daisies to her left when Logan answered the door and, just as quickly as the concern had taken her, it vanished. How weird would that have been, for her to have a sad bouquet of flowers ready to give to her friend before they went to get coffee?
“Yo,” Devin greeted with a smile, shoving her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket and stepping to the side so Logan wouldn’t have to squeeze around her to exit the cabin. “You ready to shoot fall straight into your veins? Let’s get festively caffeinated and look at some dead leaves.”
