the photo depicts a group of men, and one woman, on their last training day before climbing the Alpe d'Huez by bicycle as many times as possible (for Alpe d’Huzes, raising money for cancer research). this training took us (I joined) over the Col de Sarenne, the ‘backdoor of the Alpe d’Huez’ where this photo was taken.
