true. i think the only fandom i actually left bc it was exhausting was shingeki no kyojin, but the manga got only worse and worse after that, so no biggie. minding your own business is the way to go tbh

snk was wild... but yeah i left when the manga got bad. same with kuro, same with spn, same with... everything else. really honestly just minding my own business has made me so happy--i love my friends here and my mutuals and that’s all i need. i don’t need to be in the “Fandom Discord” and i would NEVER want to be. i don’t want us all to hold hands and sing songs together. i just want to talk about a dope show about moody vamps with some cool people :)

damn, I'm so surprised I actually understood most of the original. and you reminded me of my lengthy to-read list. would you recommend the book or can I cross it off my never-ending ~litany of guilt~?

I can imagine it's not everyone's cup of metaphorical tea, but I still have fanfiction about it lurking in the dark recesses of my computer, so I really cannot say I was not a fan, personally. If "odd couples: science-y edition, and with fun sideplots of parental conflict and professional/interpersonal issues" sounds appealing, go for it. If not, you might be able to cross it off the guilt list.
