Is this a safe place to say that DMC show Vergil is so fucking ugly

I kinda wish it…was a different anime style instead of the generic one that’s everywhere now and is ugly because it’s ugly I really hate that stupid style it’s so ugly I hate it

I’m gonna try and make a dmc oc in the dmc universe. They’re gonna be dead before the events in the show and they aren’t that important lore wise but. Still. Funny moments.

I have some criticisms of the Devil May Cry show - as a mega fan of the source material. Chief among them mostly being the strange and unnecessary pseudoscientific, sociopolitical, and religious additions to the lore, Lady's character being made more... vulgar, and her backstory changes making her own journey less compelling and the name chanhe less impactful, and that Dante's character growth and motivations seemed less compelling than the games and manga, even if they /nailed/ the superficial wacky wahoo pizza man elements.

Overall though, I think it was definitely good. Made with a lot of love for the source material clearly behind it - which is SORELY lacking nowadays. I think it was smart to make an original story rather than directly adapting the games.

The White Rabbit is a definite highlight, and the mid-season backstory episode with the varied animation styles was an absolute treat.

Looking forward to more.

i'm calling it now, this is going to be So fucking peak.... i don't even know much or particularly care about devil may cry, but yeah. and like? new evanescence banger??

(ugh, chat, i looooove stuff with themes of the underworld/afterlife, death/undeath/rebirth, existentialism. like dante's inferno, macbeth, frankenstein/the modern prometheus, the corpse bride, the entire graveborn faction...)

I made a post on TikTok, in defense of the new show saying how I disagree with you idea that in DMC devils must be inherently evil.

They are evil. But they are not inherently evil.

Because if they were. Sparda would never have been able to rebel.

And now I’m getting so many arguments from people. Who seem to think that I said that demons are not evil.

One guy said that the whole point is that he woke up to justice so therefore I’m wrong. I don’t understand how that invalidate anything I said. If anything, it proves my point! That would not be possible if they were inherently evil!!!!!

One thing i am worried about with the new DMC show is that the show fandom will start to be more active than the game fandom, and im sorry. I liked the show, but if I only see Ladys show design from here on out, I might become violent..
