Nevan, also known as the Lightning Witch, is one of the demonic guardians of Temen-ni-gru, sealed by Sparda.Dante meets Nevan on his way to the Sunken Opera House. Nevan greets Dante and flirts with him:
-Is this your first time here?
-You'll be nice to me, won't you?
- Of course I will. I'll treat you so nicely, yoy'll nevet want to leave.
Dante defeats Nevan, and she gives her soul to Dante in the form of the Devil's Hand🎸🎸🎸
After Dante's victory, Nevan still relies on her devilish charm:
-You think so, wouldn't ya?
-All right. I'll help you. Your father was a handsome devil. But you're no slouch yourself.
Nevan is inspired by the image of Neman, Nemain, which means "furious" or "terrible," one of the three goddesses of war in Irish mythology, who takes the form of the goddess Morrigan.
Neman could deceive enemy armies, causing allies to fight each other. After a battle, she⬇️
assumed the role of a mourner and flew over the bodies in the form of a black raven. If a black raven caws over a battlefield, it signifies the mourning of Neman. The bloodthirsty goddess of battle often incited enmity, seeking conflict and turmoil, pitting tribes⬇️
➡️& nations against each other. She was the catalyst for numerous ancient wars and conquests. When Dante gets Nevan, he performs a short version of "Taste The Blood" on stage. It's funny, considering that Daigo Ikeno was inspired by J-rockers when creating Dante's model for DMC3.
