How do you imagine the circumstances of Drarry’s first kiss?

Anon. I have a drarry blog on tumblr.com. People who are normal about this pairing do not end up in that situation. The better question is how don’t I imagine it? Because there’s so many AU and possible scenarios, right?

Maybe it’s in 8th year and they slowly discover that now that the war is over and now the Draco is trying to be a better person there’s nothing keeping them apart and they go from being uncertain what they are to being friends to being something more and one day they’re in the forbidden forest right in that fateful spot where they first met Voldemort together all those years ago and even though Draco can think of 1000 reasons why he shouldn’t act on his feelings because surely he can’t be selfish enough to ruin Harry’s life by chaining him to someone like Draco, when Harry goes for the kiss when they’re standing so close together suddenly he can’t seem to remember any of them.

Or maybe it’s years later and they end up having to work together when Harry is an Auror and Draco is curse breaker they end up in a tight spot and Draco pretends to go back to his old ways to trick some neo-death eaters, and in the confusion, Harry gets knocked out (probably because he used his standard tactic of throwing his whole self at an enemy) and he wakes up to find Draco missing and when he asks for him they tell him not to worry, that he’s been taken into custody and it’s all being taken care of, and so of course Harry goes tearing out of the hospital to go get him out of jail and ends up kissing him in front of 20 traumatized witness.

Or a dozen other possibilities. Listen the ship is a great ship with so many avenues you can go down.

What do you think is the most meaningful drarry scene, as well as the scene that makes them closest to canon? (Let the be the same scene or different)

Because I just realized that one of the most meaningful drarry scene might just be one where one of them isn't even present, because I really love the scene where Narcissa saves Harry (as much that saves him idk), and it says a lot about the relationship between the two boys (and also makes me want a scene of Harry accidentally calling Narcissa "mom")

I'm curious of your opinion as someone who read and analyzed the books so much. Ofc it's also fine if you can't pick, but I'm curious which kinds of scenes make you believe in them more.

ooh that’s a tough one. There’s so many good scenes. Speaking of scenes where neither of them is present, I think it’s a very telling that as soon as Draco goes missing Voldemort immediately assumes that he’s gone off to “befriend Harry Potter.” I mean what interpretation of that is there really other than drarry?

We know Voldemort can read minds and that specifically he has read Harry and Draco’s minds. And it’s not like he’s super paranoid and regularly accuses his followers of secretly wanting to befriend Harry Potter. He only ever says that about Draco. And he doesn’t even just accuse him of running off or defecting. He specifically says that he went off to be with Harry not only that, but Draco’s own mother seems to think that too because she later assumes that Harry will know where Draco is and whether he’s OK. So given that additional context this scene is particularly wild. I don’t know what Voldemort saw in Harry and Draco’s minds clearly it was enough to make him be like “listen. I’m jaded af and I don’t believe in love…except for drarry.” I don’t even know what the level of canon for that is but when even Voldemort ships it, it’s like mega super Turbo Cannon. (Also huge shoutout to @myownishveer for being the first one to point this scene out to me.)

another thing that isn’t even “on screen” is the bit where Harry apparently lied to the wizard police for Draco because in the beginning of book 7 we see that the report based on Harry’s testimony blames snape for Dumbledore’s death and….yep, no one else. Apparently, Harry left out the bit where Draco confessed to being a death eater, plotting Dumbledore’s murder, Imperiusing Rosmerta, and committing a whole bunch of other crimes.

aside from that I will always love the Manor scene. I mean the romance, the drama!!!! How can u not love it?
