@nott-amused
Mr. Dmitry Nott,
Welcome to the family. We’ve heard so much about you. As much as I love my youngest son, Alexander would try to befriend even a dog that bites him on first glance, so despite his glowing recommendation of you, it was our daughter Barbara’s opinion that we listened to.
Don’t take it personally; she’s the paranoid one in the family. Especially now, given what’s happened to Alexander, I’m sure you can understand how seriously she takes his safety. I can assure you that you aren’t the only one she’s thoroughly background-checked since she arrived in England. We haven’t gotten details, but she told us, after you visited Alexander, that you’re a good one, and you could probably use some new connections.
My husband and I keep up with the news wherever our children are. We’re all so sorry to hear about your sister, but if she’s important to Alastor I’m sure she’ll be free in no time. Since there isn’t much we can do from across the Atlantic about that, I’ve sent along some things to keep you comfortable during dark times.
much love,
Tala Church
Enclosed with the letter is a large parcel containing several fine, hand-knit sweaters, magically-preserved brownies, a second parcel of magically-preserved brownies with a large leaf logo on the container, and a glass jar of herbs labeled Migraine Relief, although if the label is flipped over it reads, in a woman’s messy handwriting, It’s magic marijuana. Just in case you need a break from your own thoughts.

A letter which follows on the heels of the first.
Dmitry,
I’m so sorry about this. My mother is- a lot.

If anyone tells him how much time I’ve spent on trail-prep just for the off-chance I can make him look bad in court for once I’m going to sue. And he’s not allowed to be my lawyer for that case.

It distresses me that I know what that man’s like in bed. It’s even more distressing to know he’s just as good in court. Distressing man with distressing opinions.
