Dietorelle: “better-for-you” candy
I D Moment sono gesti che non sentiamo il bisogno di controllare, di misurare o di limitare. Proprio come quando mangiamo una Dietorelle!
E davvero possiamo concederci una piccola coccola a cuor leggero, senza pensare alla diete e senza rinunciare a un momento di dolcezza. Le Dietorelle hanno una nuova ricetta: sempre senza zucchero, dolcificata naturalmente con estratto di Stevia (il dolcificante naturale estratto dalla pianta Sudamericana), ricca di succhi di frutta, senza coloranti e aromi naturali e senza glutine. Insomma, una cosiddetta permissible candy.
La Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni è nativa della giungla dell’alto Paranà, nel Paraguay orientale. Gli indiani locali ne conoscevano e sfruttavano le proprietà dolcificanti già da centinaia di anni, quando, a fine ‘800, il ricercatore e botanico Mosè Giacomo Bertoni (da cui il deriva il nome) la scoprì e catalogò. A seguito di questa scoperta Bertoni creò una stazione di ricerca nel centro della giungla chiamata “Gugliemo Tell”, e lì iniziò a studiarne le proprietà e gli effetti sulla comunità locale, formata dagli indiani Maya.
Gli altri ingredienti sono acido citrico, derivato dagli agrumi che conferisce alle caramelle la caratteristica nota acidula, pectina, utilizzata per le gelées, e gelatina, per le morbide.
La gamma Dietorelle soddisfa assolutamente tutti i gusti, sia come sapori veri e propri sia come consistenza: le dure ripiene (menta, ice o arancia e limone), le gelées (mora-fragola e mix frutti rossi), le gommose (liquirizia, menta, fragola o limone) e le famose morbide alla frutta (dalla classica fragola ai più ricercati pompelmo rosso e ciliegia).

The WORKSHOP : Sydney, Australia
As a child, I was fascinated with Australia...so fascinated, it bordered on obsession. As a homeschooler, my mother decided to channel my obsession interest and create a curriculum around all things Australia. Math was converting feet into meters, science was a study of koalas and kangaroos, and english focused on the syntax of letter writing (she found me a pen pal in Sydney). I wrote a report on the Sydney Opera House and promised I'd visit one day. At the time, we didn't own a car, my father caught the bus to work, our refrigerator was empty, and we shopped at thrift stores. Instead of being realistic, my mom nodded and agreed. Yes, my love, you'll visit Sydney one day. Decades later, I can't walk through Sydney and not think of that semester of homeschool. I can't help but think that life is sweeter than I could've imagined back then. Sydney has been good to me, both in childhood and present day. Two weeks ago, I hosted photography workshops in Australia and it was an epic adventure I'll never forget. I met 20 amazing photographers and together we focused on how to build a branded photography business, effective marketing, and focused on how to flow pose with clients to reflect our brand.
Many thanks to the Intercontinental Hotel in Double Bay for hosting us...it was beyond perfect and the entire staff made us feel like we were at home.
We began the wedding photo shoot around the property of the Intercontinental, paying particular notice to natural reflectors and how to create soft light on really bright days...

As part of theWORKSHOP, I challenged photographers to be confident in their skills when it comes to shooting in the worst light. Our shoot was during the brightest, hottest, and sweatiest part of the day. Photographing at high noon is usually avoided at all costs, but I walked through techniques and approaches to use and make photos to be proud of.
Shooting in Double Bay--just 10 minutes from Sydney's CBD--was a dream...
A highlight of the day was working with Jordan and Jordan (yes, they share the same name and they're a real couple), who flawlessly worked multiple cameras at once and looked downright beautiful...
Jordan, you are nothing short of perfection...
I was smitten with Jordan's blue suit...fashionable and classic at the same time!
We ended the wedding photo shoot near the hotel...the space was tiny and actually served as a parking lot, but we learned how to take the little we have and make the most of the space!
Adding a geronimo balloon always makes things more fun!
This is my second most favorite photo of the day...
....and this is my favorite photo of the day! Meeting this group of photographers made me a better person. I was embraced like an Aussie and treated like a friend...they were gracious, kind, and full of passion. Beyond all else, I know their talent will grow not just by way of their photo skills, but by their good hearts. I'm honored to call them peers.

Lessons I Learned from my Dog
Greet loved ones at the door. The best way to start the day is staying in bed a little bit longer. Forgive and forget. Always make time to cuddle. Eat what's been served. Bark, but don't bite. Listen without questioning. It's okay to stick your head out of the car window and smile. Stay curious. Share your toys. End each day with a kiss.

It's Worth Fighting For
On the best days you feel your creative work is passable. On the worst, you want throw your camera/paint brush/pen/script/book against the wall. But here's the kicker: simply showing up and doing it is far better than the alternative. If you want success, show up for three years and work like your life depends on it. Because it does. The work will teach you how to survive. It will make you humble. Best yet, it'll make you hungry. The work will prove that success isn't luck, getting a break or having connections...success is showing up every day when no one is watching and honing your craft, even when you doubt something will come of it. Success doesn't prove anything, the Work does. Show up to prove your art is worth fighting for.

How to Get a Client to Respond...and Book You
Dear Jasmine, I was recently contacted by a bride asking me about me packages and she responded by saying that everything that I offered was exactly what she wanted and the right price for her. After a few days, she sent me an email saying that they would love to hire me and when could we meet up to sign the contract. We had set up a date to meet until she emailed me again saying that her fiancé found another photographer who they're considering working with, but she would let me know what they decide. Ok, what do I respond to that? And how long is it ok to wait for them to make up their mind? Sincerely, Withering Waiter Dear Withering Waiter, Take a deep breath...just relax a bit and trust things will work out the way they are supposed to!  It's likely the groom is looking into a different photographer based on style or price (but most likely the latter).
Resist the urge to compete on price or speculate the nature of their decision making, but be sure to outline (and own) your booking procedures. Here's what I would email the client: Hi ____! Thanks for keeping me posted regarding the search for your wedding photographer. More than anything, I want you and your fiance to be more than happy and confident with your choice. I'd love the chance to meet with you as well, but I understand if things don't work out that way. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to showcase my portfolio, services, and/or customize a collection based solely on your needs and desires for your wedding day. I will email you if another bride inquires for your wedding date within the next five days, after which time I will assume you've moved in another direction. Keep me posted as things progress and I wish you all the best until I hear from you again.
