Isn't it amazing how we have small piece of people inside of us. Not even metaphorically, like how I tie my shoes because I was taught by someone I can't remember, or how I always think about a girl with red hair and a mischiveous smile when my phobia comes back to make my life harder.
It's truly amazing that I have half of both my parents that make up my body and that is somehow all mine.
It means I have some of my late grandmother still with me, in the same veins that pass through ny heart. I have cells that her husband gave me when all my childhood memories of him are long gone and he is only left as a fond story told sometimes in rememberance.
But I am alive here and now and maybe there is piece from all my encestors inside me still. I lay awake at night and wonder what they would think of me. Would they be proud? Would they understand me and my struggles?
I like to think they do, because deep down, those struggles are what connect us.
It makes me hope there is an afterlife, if only to get to meet them, to tell them what ny lived ones missed of my life after their passing, and for the ones I didn't meet to hear their stories as well.
I still need to thank one of them for the nice letter I got.
