Spreading the Spotlight- Carlos Santana
Millions upon millions, one generation after another, have been touched by his music. Carlos Santana, one of the most legendary guitarists of all time has enjoyed a tremendous resurgence in popularity and cultivated a new generation of fans over the past couple of decades via his collaborations with the biggest names in music.
Santana and his band will be performing live at the Vladivar Rock N India fest in Bangalore on October 26th and at F1 rocks, Delhi in his maiden trip to India.
Here’s Santana on how music touches people’s hearts and what drove him to be the legend of all times:
How does Carlos Santana describe his own music?
It is important to be present with love and caring. Somehow I am 65, and it is not impossible to create music with Lady Gaga, or Adele, or any contemporary artiste as long as it is the right song. My mother taught me conviction- I still see my parents guiding me- be consistent/ punctual, and play with all my heart.
What has been the greatest source of inspiration for you?
It is the purity of innocence, the complexity of simplicity. It is important to remember that everything needs to be treated in a fresh manner. There has to be a virgin energy, which is what makes everything fresh. I stay a virgin through it all.
