DnD Quest ideas: The Ecobomb
Now, in my setting, there are quests that will come up on the side and only really come to truly bear on the final battle. One of them concerns a small town in the northern part of a mountainrange that is housing a dwarven kingdom.
This town had recently been overrun with tiny, spiky lizards. They are the size of cats, eat almost anything and clog up the roads. Some Townsfolk have turned them into pets.
What followed was a surge in monster activity, with the monsters hunting and eating these little buggers.
One good look from a player, ranger, a higher level mentor or someone knowledgeable will determine these to be very tiny Terrasques.
Turns out mommy is sleeping nearby.
Terrasques lay dormant for a significant time of their lives so they birth passively. Given that fact, they are R-strategists. They toss out a bunch of young and only few are supposed to survive.
