I compiled this from dragonborn reference photos, but here’s my boy!

He’s my first dnd character, so I love him lots.

I guess i’ll rant about him and the campaign i’m gonna be playing him in now!!

Okay so about him. His name is Navoc Zein, or just Nav, and he’s a Cleric of Istus (Knowledge Domain)

He’s pretty much the opposite of what I was expecting to make, as I had a half-orc rogue or an elven barbarian in mind.

If the picture doesn’t make it obvious, he’s a Brass Dragonborn! Shiny boy!

He knows lots of languages, namely Common, Draconic, Dwarven, and Orc.

He’s True Neutral, which is unconventional for Dragonborn who tend to extremes, but I’ve got a sick backstory for that.

His holy symbol is a brand on his chest. He had a necklace at one point, but had to get rid of it, cause you can only have one at a time for it to work.

He travelled with a group of religious dragonborn since he was hatched, though none are directly related to him.

He was mainly raised by a female named Waleria, but she disowned him after the group split up.

Half of them had the mentality of (if fate had let to people in positions of power to gain power, then they should be sided with) ((Waleria’s side))

And the other had the mentality of (as disciples of Lady Fate, they were fate’s way of turning things around for people who were opressed)

So Nav refused to pick a side, was branded a heritic (literallllllly) and kicked from both sides of the group.

He wandered around on his own, had learned how to fight, yada yada. He’s not a beefy boy, with -1 Strength modifier, even with his +2 added for Dragonborn.

He is not very old, 17 at the point of the first adventure. Dragonborn arr adult at 15 tho, so. He travelled alone for about a year and a half.

His goal is to become better as a cleric and prove to Waleria and the others that he isn’t a heretic. (Spoilers, she is Chaotic Evil at this point and kind of a shitty person)

Now the campaign!

Truth be told, I have no idea how ut’s gonna go. My sister’s friend listens to The Adventure Zone, as do I and she. So we’re all into it. He also has more friends that are also gonna play, and I’ve never met any of them. My sister is the only familar party member, rip.

However, the DM, he showed us a zoomed out screenshot of his plan for the campaign so far, and it’s Huge, I’m very exited.

This is my first time playing dnd, and I got tips from Artcanary a while ago, and have been using those! They are helpful!

I’m super freaking exited and I had to rantttt, I love I love.

Time to let bygones be bygones. The last of the old 5E regime of doom is gone. I forgive you, Wizards of the Coast, unless/until you screw up Dungeons & Dragons again. You've moved up from hostile to neutral with me. I still love Dragonbane!

Monster Monday: Much Ado About Orks.

Orcs not going to be a part of my new campaign world. I was going to write about their replacement but I'm trying to decide what that should be or what they're going to look like..I have to be careful with all of the brew ha-ha on social media these days.

I found out why we rewrite random tables before the start of the campaign. I was humming right along on my Hex-A-Day 2025 when it happened. Random Encounter:  5. Orks. I of course rerolled that result. The world I’m building doesn’t have Orks or Orcs. We certainly don’t have them as a player character race. So I need a replacement. New Worlds for Fantasy RolePlaying Games.

Wizards of the Coast can't seem to create a new official Dungeons & Dragons setting despite that being exactly what is needed right now. If all of the old designers were so bad, why does WotC keep falling back on their work instead of creating new worlds?

I feel official Dungeons & Dragons has let us down on world building. Friends don’t let friends copy old settings from the 80s into 5E I know that might be upsetting for some people to hear. Drizzt Do'Urden is the latest center of controversy in Dungeons & Dragons history. I never liked Drow to begin with for Dungeon Master reasons, and nothing else. This is another long anti-racism article. Lots of Content/Trigger warnings ahead. Be advised.
