Elf Lair Games: the Year in Review, and Looking Forward!
This sucks so much
I compiled this from dragonborn reference photos, but here’s my boy!
He’s my first dnd character, so I love him lots.
I guess i’ll rant about him and the campaign i’m gonna be playing him in now!!
Time to let bygones be bygones. The last of the old 5E regime of doom is gone. I forgive you, Wizards of the Coast, unless/until you screw up Dungeons & Dragons again. You've moved up from hostile to neutral with me. I still love Dragonbane!
Monster Monday: Much Ado About Orks.
Orcs not going to be a part of my new campaign world. I was going to write about their replacement but I'm trying to decide what that should be or what they're going to look like..I have to be careful with all of the brew ha-ha on social media these days.
I found out why we rewrite random tables before the start of the campaign. I was humming right along on my Hex-A-Day 2025 when it happened. Random Encounter: 5. Orks. I of course rerolled that result. The world I’m building doesn’t have Orks or Orcs. We certainly don’t have them as a player character race. So I need a replacement. Orks are still a hot button topic in the TableTop RolePlaying…
New Worlds for Fantasy RolePlaying Games.
Wizards of the Coast can't seem to create a new official Dungeons & Dragons setting despite that being exactly what is needed right now. If all of the old designers were so bad, why does WotC keep falling back on their work instead of creating new worlds?
I feel official Dungeons & Dragons has let us down on world building. Friends don’t let friends copy old settings from the 80s into 5E I know that might be upsetting for some people to hear. I apologize. I know D&D is a big part of a lot of people’s lives and gaming experiences. Wizards of the Coast’s “D&D production team” (or whatever they’re calling themselves this week) just doesn’t seem to…
Freedom Day December 2024
Guess who's back with a brand new rap about Wizards of the Coast and their DnD... uh, stuff? garbage? nonsense? (LOL) Thank the Universe for cold medicine! I'm feeling better just in time to vent some frustration.
Hard to believe this year is almost over. I feel like I blinked in August and now we’re here. I’ve had a busy three months or so amongst doing stuff with my family, starting a YouTube channel, and this here blog. I dare say if I were working a regular 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM job, I would have missed out on so much of it. I’m certain the corporate world is better off without me. Being free of…
The Tale of F’ritzz the Drow.
Drizzt Do'Urden is the latest center of controversy in Dungeons & Dragons history. I never liked Drow to begin with for Dungeon Master reasons, and nothing else. This is another long anti-racism article. Lots of Content/Trigger warnings ahead. Be advised.
I know it’s Dungeons & Dragons blasphemy. I don’t like Drizzt Do’ Urden Please understand it has nothing whatsoever to do with the color of his skin or the matriarchal demonolater society he comes from. I had my fill of the Drow in general and good old Drizzt clear back in the early 2nd Ed AD&D days when he was first catching on and the fools at T$R statted him up. I’m happy the novels caught on…
