Remember Clocks? That guy thing clock time man

Well besties I finally have some lore to explain why he’s so different in terms of personality!!! And it fits with the whole SMG4 thingamaboby imo kinda

I did some art of it too !!! :D

Ok so onto the actual lore: at some point a virus comes into the universe and Mario and senses it rather quickly (some Avatar thing idk) and SMG4, firmly believing that now he’s no longer a YouTuber nothing bad can happen, ignores it and so does everyone else (though most of them promise to keep an eye out). A bit later and BAM! Big snake virus up ahead eating up the buildings like brownies (mmmmm) and guess what it’s after. The SMGs do their thing and just when they’re distracted, the universe starts to fall apart (wuh oh) and Meggy finds Mario with the UPPER LEFT HALF OF HIS FACE LITERALLY GONE, crushed and glitched, and she passes out. More chaos ensues, and eventually the God of Time (a huge figure with the head of an hourglass) simply decides that it is ‘time for him to serve his true purpose’ and through magic not only revives Mario but also replaces the part that was lost, albeit imperfectly (leading to a new overall personality). The only evidence of such an event is a darker patch over that portion of face and the fact that his left eye now has a star in it. He shakes Meggy awake in a panic, the universe suddenly repairs itself, and by this point the virus has left due to it thinking its work is done. Great all is well!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!! Just ignore Mario’s new thing he’s got going on lol

So yah I don’t think many people will care for this but hey ho (this also means I’m gonna have to rewrite that fanfic maybe GOD DAMN IT)wait shit the gloves are the wrong colour- THE BLUE CAME AFTER I SWEAR
