TM31: Brick Break - How do you think you’ve improved?
Many ways. But the main ones are positivity and socialness. I used to be very negative: I had a tendency to expect the worst, or at least something bad, and be pretty gloomy. Now, I know it sounds fake, but I just one day went “this isn’t fun. I’m tired of this.” and since then have started my journey on being more positive towards myself, people, and the world in general. And I gotta say, it’s way more fun! I can recommend, haha
I also used to be socially distant and awkward. No, I mean it. In my second school’s elementary school friend group, I was so passive, I remember one break the group climbing on a snow “castle” (mound, really) and joking around, and I was just standing there, on the snow “castle”, eyes kinda glazed, just observing what the group was doing, and what was happening in the school yard. And my social interactions were clunky, you have no idea how many awkward social memories I’ve got from that school. But slowly I’ve gotten better at all that. I’m not so passive anymore - yes, I’m on the calm side, but I don’t watch the world go by as I stand around like a statue - and nowadays I have a big friend group I hang out with and honestly enjoy being around. I have a few ideas on why I changed - the major events being the group I met after I went to my first convention, and my exchange year in Japan - but some parts are still a mystery to me, like how in primary school I tried to get out of every out-of-school thing my friends tried to invite me to - whether it be to hang out at their house or as a group - and just didn’t want to go to, but nowadays I’ll jump at the chance to hang out with my friends. I’d love to learn all of the reasons.
Ah, and it also goes to the socialness that I’m now way better at not being intimidated by social interaction with strangers! I have more guts, you could say, when it comes to that. You can thank my exchange year for that one - I could barely speak the language, and was in an environment where I knew absolutely nothing. That’ll make ya not give a damn, man
TM20: Safeguard - Are you superstitious?
I am unsure. I don’t really believe in superstitions, but then again, I often humour the ideas of superstitious stuff, and I have a habit of doing things that are probably superstitious, but I just don’t think of it as superstitious, since I’m so used to it. Like which dice throws well (not counting weigthed dice), or which side of my mouth I should use to eat things I like. So, most likely!
