Dr Boom ref for Art Fart
i added the rest of the bounty hunters (Huge Hugo, Luckless Larry, and Magic Mance) and the funniest possible thing happened - they started to fall in love with one another?!
it went to the point that Luckless Larry decided to (in spite of my advice!) go and confess his feelings towards Hugo,
(really pathetically, may i add)
welp.
i don't know why Viktor is there. he certainly wasn't in love with Hugo. ...he actually fell in love with MANCE shortly after?!
i could've made this funnier because Hugo actually said "i might be falling in love with Viktor"... but i accidentally clicked the "you must be dreaming" option, so we will have no funny love triangle between the bounty hunters for now... ToT
itgink the head admin has a tendency to stand as straight as he can with the stiffest posture ever and as a result he moves like he stuck a stick up his ass

So what the hell is DoaMBH
DoaMBH (or, Diary of a Minecraft Bounty Hunter) was an ebook series on the Kindle estore. it was uploaded around 2015, but was unlisted some time after 2020. from the title and cover you might think this is meant to be a weird Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Minecraft fusion, but the truth is a bit more complicated than that. this is a diary. the story does kinda take place in Minecraft. but that's where the similarities end.
put it simply - the story is loosely based in Minecraft. or more specifically, a Minecraft server. gaming terms are frequently used (characters can "respawn" so death is not permanent. unless it is.) and IRL figures are constantly mentioned throughout the story (like.... Dinnerbone. or even... Notch??). despite this, the characters go through all sorts of adventures that are kind of impossible for an actual vanilla game of Minecraft... for example, duct tape is an important plot point at some point. i forget to mention this but this story is a bit silly.
it's pretty light-hearted and a quick read (each mission would take you about an hour and a half, and thats being generous). it's made for what, 9 year olds? so don't expect anything too lifechanging. this was likely made for a quick buck to scam gullible children.
Where can i read this
short answer: Internet Archive
long answer: originally you were able to read this on Kindle if you bought the books or got it through a free sample collection. but currently this option is dud as the original listings of these volumes are gone forever. while i have uploaded my own copy of DoaMBH onto the Internet Archive (linked above), there's still some stuff missing that has sadly likely been lost to time...
wait are there more??
yeah.
shortly after the original release of DoaMBH, Diary of a Minecraft Explorer (or just DoaME) was released. you have to read through it a bit, but you'll find out that it is indeed a sequel as Charles shows up as a pretty important character later on.
additionally, there's also a "Complete Guide" book, which was said to contain extra tidbits not contained within the og books. the Complete Guide also contains side stories, or at least says it does.
(somewhere within the corners of Goodread, the book listings say there is another elusive book within the series only known as "Diary of Charles the Admin". no information can or has been found on this.)
so where can i read those
er. so one problem. DoaME and the complete guide are lost media.
there is ONE listing of DoaME on the web, though a bit obscure. you have to go to the Google Playstore for this one. bad news is that it isn't a complete reupload, as the last few volumes are missing. also the cover is ai generated which is. yuck.
(and yes, i am certain that this is THE original text for DoaME. the collection i got DoaMBH from had the first volume of DoaME in it, and looking at the first volume, they both match up. though, i'm not sure why this person happened to have this specific text on them...? where the hell did they get this...?)
The Complete Guide was available either as part of a collection of unofficial Minecraft books that the authors had made, or as an exclusive reward for the author's newsletter. alas, the newsletter was linked to a long-defunct site......!
okay so youre a lunatic. why would you be interested in these.
"lune" was my old name buddy.
being invested in this series as a 9 year old with little to no access to the internet or modern gaming aside from my little kindle did damage to me i feel.
but also, in a sick way, it makes me happy playing with characters from a long forgotten series made for nothing but earning money. i get to repurpose these guys and all it costs me is my sanity! yippee!!
and as for your rewriting project...
okay thats a whole different topic of its own. refer to the rewrite masterpost (will be linked when i ACTUALLY MAKE IT)
Dan has a tendency to chew. he likes to really gnaw on shit, and that’s why he likes steak a lot. he’d probably chew on wood too, like the hilt of a wooden sword
its gotta be lonely up top, where the head admin resides. he barely has any friends, barely anyone to trust (that's... active), and he's pretty much fighting for a dead server with basically no one in it. he has dr boom, of course, but that relationship's strained by their history, their ideals, and how they would've split off by now if not for the fact they're kinda stuck together. and that's the guy he calls his "closest friend".
drawing on two different college notebooks means i end up with two different designs for the same character
