To make Dobson’s self insert less smarmy, I simplified the features, used soft lines, and (of course) gave him a less punchable face. I lightened the colors and painted with watercolor to make everything feel soft. I imagine this version of Dobson to be a peacemaker, maybe in a classroom of some sort? Like, he’s still in school, learning about art, and comes across new challenges everyday or something.

Here my take on the detective Pikachu fanart,i could find a pencil so it's very sketchy,i base myself on the game desing,i didnt draw the magnifiing glass,i fucked up a the tail And i change the footprint to a Pokémon one.i hope it looks good

wether the prompt is over or not I really wanted to see if I could make that picture less awkward. Patty looked like she could be a nursery teacher or something given how child-looking her design is, so you could say that here they’re now adults (school romances are either cringey or boring to me anyways). also how did Dobson think that the redesigns are less sameface? because I aint seein it chief. I changed Nadia’s headshape to sorta fix that. I kinda regret not using her old clothes though, she looks less generic with them. this was done without reading the comic so I relied on the newest art of them to see what traits their designs were telling me, and there their personalities fit with what they looked like, not the opposite as the comic made it be. did he decide to change that?

It’s always kinda bothered me that Atea is “part rat person” but looks more like an elf or something instead of a rodent. So I tried my hand at reimagining her a little. I gave her rounded ears halfway up her head, to be a mix of where human and rat ears are located. Her nose is a bit longer and functions semi like a muzzle. She’s got buck teeth and whiskers because why not, and a tail that’d be what I assume half the length of a pure blood Rat-person. She has mostly skin, but I’m adding the detail of super short fur all over her body you can’t normally see. Like Dobbo tho I do suck at hands and feet, so those look a bit wonky. But I’m a furry and used to drawing paws anyway. I had a lot of fun drawing and practicing more dynamic poses. I know she’s still a little stiff, but I really didn’t want to imitate the “sexy” pose in her bio. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This tiny doodle/redraw of Dobson’s easter icon turned into something I spent way too much time on but I think it turned out nice? I just wanted to see what he’d look like without eyebrows at first but this became a good art exercise. Also Dobson please work on line weight and smoothing I’m begging you
