El primer día en el pueblo casi muere. El segundo también. El tercero igual, y así continuo por toda una semana. El segundo día de la segunda semana terminaron los extraños eventos después de que un escorpión lo mordiera, cayera desmayado, y se hiciera una fisura en la clavícula.
Y así, después de despertar en casa de la señora Morris, conoció a Dochia. Mientras ella lo estaba intentando mover de la cama para alimentarlo.
