A doctor... who... LISTENS!? UNPOSSIBLE!
Saw the doctor for the first time in a year and change (had shenanigans involved with the whole thing) and I told her 'I've been having pain in my right breast, I have dense breasts and mammograms aren't good enough I also need an ultrasound to help rule anything out' and she just... accepted this!? I was ready to argue and defend my point, because I'm so fucking used to doctors treating me like I'm an idiot. Like, somehow I can't recall the details that previous doctors have found out about my body. I didn't come to this idea on my own; a doctor diagnosed it in my 20s.
Last doctor I saw completely refused to listen to me when I explained I had a clogged eye duct and assumed it was intraocular pressure causing the issue!? A few months later, I managed to dislodge a dacryolith (you can get random ass stones in many places in your body it's weird) from my eye duct, and the issue has largely been cleared up, but I've had to manage it solo. Do my own research, do my own medical care (eye duct massages, hot compresses, moisturizing eye drops, I have dry eyes, which likely is what caused it!). The same doctor gave me horrid advice for dealing with my angular cheilitis as well. She insisted I should be using Aquaphore healing ointment, and I said I'd been using lanolin, she insisted 'aquaphore is thicker' BITCH. The only thing thicker than pure lanolin is WAX.
But I did what she told me to, and it made the issue so much worse. In December, I got fed up and switched back to Lanolin, and what was a constant pain turned into something somewhat manageable. The lanolin instantly stops the pain, blocks moisture from getting into the fissures, and heals them faster. No clue what's causing it by new doctor wants to run some blood tests to help determine it.
A good doctor is wonderful.
