becky, ultimately, does not want jonathan dead until after she can get her Big Revenge. she would be totally cool with him dying of natural causes/in an accident after she got her Big Revenge, because the whole point of her Big Revenge is to humiliate him, take away all his power, and lock him up forever. (“but piri,” i can hear the audience say, “no one is ever really locked up forever in gotham! especially not when they’re at arkham!” and normally that is absolutely right! except becky’s Big Revenge isn’t normal! she has bruce wayne helping her! with his money/influence and his position on arkham’s board of trustees he is easily able to get crane transferred to the supermax cells, which are actually really truly literally impossible to break out of, as detailed in this post.) how becky gets her Big Revenge varies between rp canon and mythical mof solo series canon but both arcs involve her bringing public attention to jon’s crimes prior to gotham, his tendency to fixate on female students/patients [see: joker’s asylum, study hall, the victim syndicate*], and overall just. outing him as a creepy old man who surrounds himself with vulnerable, traumatized people in order to make himself seem intimidating and powerful lmao-- and to do it all without killing him or becoming a supercriminal, thus proving that he’s always been wrong about her and no matter what he does to her she’s still one of the good guys.

*yes the victim syndicate is from the new 52 but it’s SUCH A GOOD CONCEPT AND I WANT MORE OF IT

she is aware of the fact that she may accidentally kill him in self-defense before she is able to complete her Big Revenge. she does not want to kill him, but she understands that she also does not want to die, and if he puts her in a situation where she ends up shooting him or stabbing him or whatever and she kills him on accident, she won’t feel very bad about it. she’ll be upset, and it will take her a while to get over it, but she won’t lie awake for the rest of her night crying into her pillow about how she’s a terrible person and jonathan was always right about her because let’s be honest! she is completely justified in killing this man and she knows it! he has systematically destroyed her life and violated her in every imaginable way for the past six years! he has tried to murder her! he is her abuser! literally the only way she will be 100% absolutely completely safe from him is if he’s dead! the only reason she wants to get her Big Revenge instead of just waiting for an opportunity for jon to die is that She Needs Closure, and by Closure i mean Irrefutable Proof That He Was Wrong About Her. if she kills him, she may not get that, but she’d much rather live with the weird feeling of regret than let jon kill her.

she does not share bruce’s no-kill rule. she does always want to believe in the best of people, that if you give them a second chance they’ll do good with it or that they’re victims of circumstance, but she also knows from experience that there are some situations where the no-kill rule is tantamount to suicide or manslaughter. she would not go out and kill people because she does not believe one person has the right to take the life of another-- but, she does believe that a jury/the public has the right to do so.

if someone else killed him, that person would be on her shit list forever. the sole exception to this rule is jon’s half-sister that dc apparently forgot existed after scarecrow: year one came out. red hood is not allowed to kill scarecrow. hush is not allowed to kill scarecrow. none of the rogues are allowed to kill scarecrow. if anyone is going to kill scarecrow, it’s rebecca albright. his life is the one thing she feels entitled to out of the entire universe. depending on the circumstances, she might just express her displeasure with this person, or she might use her influence to ruin their lives because yeah she’s one of the good guys but she’s also petty and vengeful and full of rage :^)

if jon died from an accident or an illness she’d be annoyed but she would make her peace with it pretty easily. if he was in hospice, she would visit him and try to make it a truly friendly interaction. she doesn’t want to be cruel to him; she wants him to get what he deserves, whether it’s good or bad. she wants him to understand that he’s a bad person because he hurts people, and not because people hurt him.

she wouldn’t orchestrate his death. she wouldn’t premeditate his murder. if she kills him, it will be because he gives her no other option in that specific context.
