Romana had only been on Earth for a few days and she was already finding it dull, the days monotonous and despite the many times she had ended up on the planet in her travels everything still felt alien, different. There were also logistical reasons she was eager to leave: the fact she had no recognisable documentation- no one here could even begin to read circular- which would make it difficult to live there even if she had wanted to stay.
But until she found something to help repair her almost unsalvageable wreck of a TARDIS or managed to flag down a passing spaceship she was stranded. She found it hard to summon much motivation in her search, there was a hole gouged out in her consciousness, her planet- her friends- were gone and the hive mind with it. The Universe had already moved on, she was an unwanted relic from a past tangled in paradoxes. With little else to do she had taken to exploring the city she had ended up in, finding it far more boring alone and without the added excitement of alien invasions, she gave up and sat down, watching crowds of people move past.
Her attention was drawn to one in particular, she could recognise the feel of a human mind well enough to know when something was different, not quite the same. They were unmistakably human but there was something more, their timeline didn't flow linearly. A time traveller.
Driven by curiosity she weaved through the thinning crowd until she was next to her target, and lowered her voice. “I apologise if this is a little forward but have you travelled in time recently?”
