Use Yumpu to create interactive PDFs quickly and effortlessly. Learn how to add videos to your magazine by using our hotspot editor.
Welcome to the Screencast “How do I embed a video into my magazine?” – Use Yumpu to create interactive PDFs quickly and effortlessly.
We’ll start on the home page and select the menu item “My Magazines”. This opens the Document Manager. We select the desired magazine and click on the button “Edit Magazine” on the right-hand side. We click on the button “Add Page element to your magazine” in the category “Add multimedia to your magazine”. This opens the editor for multimedia elements which is named “Hotspot Editor”. Here, you can embed videos – for example from YouTube or Vimeo –, sounds, or even more pictures into your magazine. And of course external links as well, e.g. to your online shop. From the right panel, we select the page on which we want to create our video hotspots. To do so, we deactivate the corresponding check box under “Tools” on the left-hand side. We draw a frame right where we want to place our video, in the exact size that we want the video to have. Important: The video must have a minimum size of 5×5 pixels and cannot be larger than the page. It should have a unique name so it can easily be identified. These settings can be seen right next to the magazine. First, we will give the magazine a name – in our case “Yumpu Promo Video”. For the video source we choose YouTube. Next, we will need the YouTube ID. We open our video on Youtube.com. We can easily find the ID in the address bar of our browser at the very end of the address after the equal sign. We copy the ID and go back to the Hotspot Editor. There, we will insert the ID and click “Save”. The hotspot has been saved. Now, we’ll test it in our WEBKiosk. Perfect – exactly what we wanted.
