Wednesday 1st November 2017. 16:00 Osaka Japan.
This was the first glimpse of how a lot of my sunsets are going to look from now on inside the big city. It was day 2 of commuting from my new apartment in Osaka, everything is still up in the air, but I’m happy to be living and working in the same city already.
Jesus Fucking Christ
One of Timothée’s quotes from the Document Journal.
Tuesday 9th May 2017. 19:00 Osaka Japan.
We drove back to Nomu’s house in Osaka, dropped my suitcase off and got the train to Namba. We went to our favourite omu rice restaurant for our last meal. I was still pretty full from my lunch earlier haha but it was still as delicious as always!
Monday 8th May 2017. 13:00 Kyoto Japan.
Today was kind of my last day of getting everything organised to come back home before leaving my house tomorrow and heading to Osaka. Yoshiko cycled to my house and we went for lunch at the nicest cafe called Sowgen Cafe. This cafe was located on the top main road, 5 minutes cycle from my house. I’ve cycled past here so many times but I’ve never been inside before. The curry, cake and tea set was so delicious! The interior was so lovely too. We stayed in here for a while and then said our goodbyes. So happy Yoshiko took me here, I will 100% be going back!
Friday 24th March 2017. 06:00 Kyoto Japan.
I have been super lazy with taking photographs and blogging this week so I promised myself that I would wake up at 04:30 this morning and cycle to Fushimi Inari and I did just that.
The first and last time I came here with Apo Chan there was people everywhere and it was super hard to get any decent, empty looking pictures, hence the reason for getting here so early. I left my house at 5am and got to the bottom of the shrine around 05:40. I checked the weather yesterday and this morning before I left and it said clear skies, I got here only to be greeted by the biggest, blackest raincloud right over the shrine gate lol, typical.
I was here super early, the lights were still on, lighting the empty tori gate tunnels all the way to the top of the mountain.
Sunday 23rd April 2017. 12:30 Nara Japan.
Today we went to Nara. This was my first time to Nara, it has been on the list since I arrived, so I’m glad I finally got round to coming here before I leave for England. We headed to the park to feed the famous Nara deers.
Nara Park is a public park located in the city of Nara, Japan, at the foot of Mount Wakakusa, established in 1300s and one of the oldest parks in Japan. According to local folklore, deer from this area were considered sacred due to a visit from Takemikazuchi-no-mikoto, one of the four gods of Kasuga Shrine. He was said to have been invited from Kashima Shrine in present-day Ibaraki Prefecture, and appeared on Mt. Mikasa riding a white deer. From that point, the deer were considered divine and sacred by both Kasuga Shrine and Kōfuku-ji. Killing one of these sacred deer was a capital offence punishable by death up until 1637, the last recorded date of a breach of that law.
We couldn’t have picked a more beautiful day, the weather was perfect! Nara is, visually, a stunning place although there isn’t much going on here apart from a few temples and thousands of deer haha.
