I don't normally write such vulnerable and personal posts, but here goes. After becoming a Mama, my body had changed drastically. Even now at 10 months postpartum today, I don't physically feel quite like my pre-pregnancy self, and I don't think I ever will. But that's okay. I saw my belly pooch, the sag in my breasts, and all the stretch marks as reminders of my promotion as my little girl's Mama...and taking on that role is more rewarding than anything else I can ever dream of. However, I think I took that mindset as an excuse to completely let myself go, look like a total mess on a daily basis, and wear the most unflattering clothes day in and day out. It did, in turn, begin to impact my mood. What changed, however, was finally putting on a feel-good piece of clothing, which - to be honest - had me feeling selfish to enjoy wearing pretty things again. However, it helped me realize that it doesn't take away from the significance of my role as a mother. I can try to be the best Mama I can, AND feel positive about my new body. I no longer need to just tolerate my body; I can now embrace it. So, I thought I'd share that feel-good piece of clothing for me. It's this stunning royal blue Sari Wrap Skirt from @darngoodyarn, which is a piece of art in itself! I am humbled to wear it because it's not just beautiful but very size inclusive and promotes body positivity. Oh and get this -- it's made of reclaimed sari fabric, too! This cloth gets a chance at a second life while making my heart happy. It's also versatile and can be worn as not just a skirt but numerous dress styles, and even as a shawl. There's so much to say about it, so if you'd like to read more, be sure to check out my blog post reviewing this skirt with lots more pics: https://www.sweetsofties.com/2021/05/sari-skirt.html Thank you, DarnGoodYarn, for doing darn good! You've filled this Mama's heart with a generous helping of self love. 💕 #DarnGoodBody #darngoodyarn #dodarngood #sari #sarifashion #fashion #ootd #skirt #clothing #ecofriendlyfashion #ecofriendlyclothing #postpartum #bodypositivity #postpartumbody #momblogger #mombod #loveyourbody #selflove #loveyourself https://www.instagram.com/p/CPFb49eL-Jm/?utm_medium=tumblr
