Sooooo, Lime Crime announced a Mermaid collection, which I thought was kinda cool. If you go to the coming soon section you’ll see all the lovely new shades, all of which I need. However there was also these. I thought they looked kinda familiar, fortunately people brighter than me found them in a flash on AliExpress. Yes that’s right, a brush set with an added bag was (and I say was because it’s not on the Lime Crime website as of right now) being advertised for $58. You can get a very similar (the glitter looks slightly different) for $12 on AlixExpress (without the bag).

Are Lime Crime up to their old tricks again?
Don’t forget to check out @riplimegrime & @beautytruthsleuthofficial on Instagram for more updates.
Edit: To add, now someone pointed out that these might be dupes made by the company that Lime Crime commissioned to make the brushes. That looks like the most likely answer due to other evidence that’s appearing. Check out OhDearDoeDeere’s Post here.
Also I’m having a good laugh at the people on the Trendmood post claiming Lime Crime stole their idea of putting free floating glitter in handles. Brushes like these have been around since the 80′s.

I thought limecrime was vegan?
They are. However, many people have chosen not to support the brand due to its sketchy past in terms of both product quality and customer service, and because of the racism displayed by the brand and its CEO, Doe Deere. There is plenty more easy to find information out there about it if you’re interested in learning more. Just google “lime crime controversy” or something similar, and you will get a plethora of articles about it.
