“So many ghosts…” Alma marveled as they ascended from the cellar.
“This is why the name of this place won’t tell you anything. Broken Hearts Lounge doesn’t exactly exist in the living world. It did once, but the building burned down and was never rebuilt. It still exists in the world of the dead, though,” Sabrina explained.
“Were they all killed?” Alma had to know.
“Some were. Others suffered from real accidents. Others simply passed away and didn’t move on. People become ghosts for the dumbest reasons, really.”
“You were with Brady. Did he…?”
“Kill me? Yeah, he has a nasty habit of doing that, it seems. Just ask Andrea over there,” she pointed to shimmering blue ghost who was intently listening to the equally ghostly pianist play an old-fashioned jazz piece. “She was his ex-wife too.”
