now that im out of there it was so funny the lady doing my ultrasound (im not pregnant) was like "yeah i dont usually do transvaginal ultrasounds if the patient hasnt had sex before" like um. not quite. but i cant be the one to explain that to you

You are such a Sid expert! 😅 I can't remember if he's kept somewhat of a beard during previous regular seasons? Has he? (minus the league wide November mustache month). He's just on such a new level of hotness these days. It's A LOT.

During last season, he started growing one out while he was out with the sports hernia, but then shaved it a couple days after he finally could get ice time again. Which hysterically, it had some of the beats be like "This is Sid. It means something. Is he back???" No. It would actually be like another 2 weeks or so til he was in a game again

But it was the start to a pattern. Because by the time he did get back, he was already a little scruffy again, and he was looking extremely good when he played the Flyers prior to the all-star break with scruffy beard and curls......but then came back with a shave and a haircut 😑

But then it grew out again....then was shaved off. Then again.....then shaved off. It was this weird 3 to 4 week cycle up until the pause, and it almost seemed like it would repeat again this season with shaving it off in February, which is why I thought we were really doomed in early March, because we were pushing the envelope for it

Now, he's had periods in a few other seasons (but nothing prior to the year 2015 I think???) where he just grows out a beard (I can't tell you exactly when in each season right now, I just know I've seen mid-season gifsets of a beardy Sid), but I don't think they took up such a repeated pattern

Also, the funny thing with this offseason and the pause.....with the exception of the summer of sadness (which I detailed once before, but I had forgotten that Sid had also mentioned that his 30th birthday wouldn't be a crisis because his 28th one was....yikes bud), he never grows out a beard as much as we saw him do this pandemic??? Summer might get a little scruffy, but it's more like "I didn't shave for a week" vs "I have a birdsnest on my face"

SO!!!! This is some uncharted territory with the frequency and also, dear pensburgh, this tweet of mine you liked when I quote tweeted your piece about being in awe that Sid grew an actual beard, I wasn't fucking around!!!! I'll write up the history!!!!
