With all the falls she'd taken before, Homura would have suspected this wasn't as bad. It really wasn't. It was her mistake for miscalculating the location of the witch's barrier. As unlucky as it was that she had to let it escape as it had, it was worse that once the barrier had dissipated, Homura was already falling out of the sky.
"No!" She exclaimed under her breath, rushing to do something to help stop or at least cushion her descent. However the moment she touched her shield, it sparked brightly, as if not allowing her to use it, the single moment she needed it most.
Luck really wasn't on her side. The most she got was perhaps a miniature spark of magic in order to somewhat slow her fall. It did allow her to try and grab onto a clothes line hung outside near where she fell, her fingers grasping the hanging sheet. However she jerked to a halt for a moment before the material snapped off the line and left her falling the rest of the way.
"Agh!" Homura fell onto an extended awning that covered the back entrance into the building that made the alleyway, and was promptly tossed onto the ground, an empty cardboard box managing to at least prevent her from straight out hitting concrete. She groaned quietly, unable to quite hold it back at the immediate pain. Yeah, she ached. Though her magic would take care of the heaviest damage. She felt a little bit dizzy though. Perhaps from the collision with the awning. Her arm hurt as well. Right arm. It wasn't broken, it merely hurt. That told her she'd been close to breaking it. Maybe luck was on her side, just not at the right time. Regardless, she had to get up and get moving.
