chandra delacroix
she/her - lesbian - 20 - born on april 9th
when chandra was born her parents were absolutely ecstatic to finally have had their own child, but they soon found out that she was born with no magic running through her veins. now to most, this wouldn’t be a big deal — half of the population didn’t have any either after all. but to their coven it was quite the ordeal, the delacroix’s were a legacy household, a big name if you will. and because of this, they had a reputation to maintain. her parents tried to fix her, over and over and over again. they tried every spell, remedy, and mystical dark object they could get their hands on — to say they were desperate would be an understatement. they were finally successful in their task on her tenth birthday and chandra can now wield her own magic, at a price. see, every time she uses magic she accelerates the clock on her life. of course depending on the spell and it’s difficulty it can shorten her life by mere seconds or years. while a small part of her was thrilled to finally have her own magic, she was mostly scarred from the experience and furious with her parents for the trauma they caused her. to put it plainly she doesn’t contact them much anymore.
kestral torneau
she/her - bisexual - 19 - born on august 15th
her whole life kestral’s done nothing but dream. dream of what exactly? well.. everything. her head has been very much in the clouds and she’s not entirely sure she wants to come down. she’d never had the best grades or many close friends growing up, but that didn’t matter much to her because she had her magic. why would she waste her precious time and energy on trivial stuff like studying or working when she could cast a spell or two and have it done within seconds? her parents have commented that she can’t live the rest of her life on “easy mode” and well, kestral would disagree. it should be of no surprise that she’s the lowest rank among the rest of the girls, not that she cares much. she’d take 100th place if it meant she could live the rest of her life the way she wanted to.
silver lestat
she/her - demiromantic/asexual - 18 - born on december 28th
one word — overachiever. unlike our girl above, silver has every intention to be the best she can possibly be. growing up she was number one in her class, valedictorian, and she was the youngest to ever pass her spellcasting exam and gain the right to practice magic outside of school. to her, there’s no point to life if she’s not improving everyday, something her parents drilled into her head at a very young age. if she’s not reading, she’s practicing, if she’s not practicing, she’s helping someone else with their studies in hopes that she’ll learn something new. to some this may seem exhausting, silver doesn’t mind it much though, to her it’s as easy as breathing. although, she did get barred from using one particular spell in the past, any guesses on what kind? here i’ll give you a hint, it involves the dead.
jinx malum
she/they - lesbian - 19 - born on october 2nd
jinx had always sought out trouble and as she got older it seemed she became a magnet for it. it wasn’t bad luck like she’d originally thought, but dark magic that flowed through her. she’d found this out on her first day of junior high, their teachers did a reading of each of the students magical auras. her teacher described it as a cold, unwavering, darkness seeping into her own light. she was just as shocked as everyone else and it was only a little later that she’d find out how it exactly gotten there in the first place. you see, jinx was adopted by a very powerful witch after her parents had died — the cause of their death is still unknown — and this witch had secretly linked jinx’s magic to their own. they drew from her magic each time they’d cast a spell and especially when they’d dabbled into dark magic. this dabbling eventually turned into every other spell, which eventually turned into all of the time. these spells her master was using had tainted her very own magic, resulting in a figurative lock over her powers. she’d lost contact with her master shortly after she’d confronted them about it and has no idea their whereabouts now. jinx is still linked and has to actively fight against the dark magic threatening to take hold of her everyday.

- aksel and agnes are twins !!
- inesa would be the top student if shion wasn’t already
- niklas has super enhanced eyesight, side effect of a spell his parents casted on him as a baby
- agnes and shion do not get along. at all.
- aksel and niklas are besties
- none of them aren’t very close with anyone outside of their own guild, but shion and silver occasionally study together
- oh also inesa and silver....... competitive.

secret file note: agate’s brought herself back to life 4 times before attending our academy. she says that every single one of her deaths had been caused by faulty potions. we’ve prohibited her from the cauldron until further notice.

secret file note: maev has a terrible temper and she’s been known to create blackholes by accident because of it. keep a close eye on this one.

secret file note: a curse passed down within ludmila’s bloodline causes her body temperature to be around 90 degrees fahrenheit, so she’s always freezing. on the bright side she can wield ice powers phenomenally.

secret file note: despite not having the adept rank*, ulisses has been allowed to practice his transfiguration magic. shapeshifting runs in his family so we agreed to make an exception for him.

secret file note: while ares lacks work ethic, he makes up for it with raw talent. his master says if he applied himself he could surpass our top students. however, it seems he’d rather spend his days pranking his fellow guild members.

virve la rouge
they/she - pansexual - 19 - born on july 11th
virve is very dependent on others. for example, one time they had cast a spell to make everyone in their class like them, and for awhile virve absolutely loved it. all of the attention, the friends they’d made — it was something they had only ever dreamed of. but when their teacher found out and made them undo it, their fight or flight instinct kicked in. deep down they had known that what they’d done was wrong — although they’d never admit it, of course. but just the thought of everyone in their class finding out and hating them for it was enough for virve to switch schools the next week. they’d cut off contact with everyone from their old school and haven’t spoken to them since. now surely you’d think they’d learned their lesson right? yeah, no. virve’s still up to their old tricks. so much so that one night their grandmother had called them “the most reckless witch she’d ever known.” some might say that recklessness isn’t the best trait for a witch to have, virve would diagree.
