Dog Lips (Portsmouth, New Hampshire) are new to Strange Mono, but have been making/releasing music for about 3 years. Strange Mono describes their music as "a raw and relentless blend of punk, hard rock, and new wave." I've been listening to a lot of Dog Lips this morning (check out their own Bandcamp for earlier stuff) and I've yet to hear the new wave sound, but I'll reserve final judgement until I hear the rest of "Danger Forward" which will see a full release on August 22nd.
According to Strange Mono, Dog Lips channel "the urgency of Mission of Burma, the swagger of Thin Lizzy, and the abrasive edge of Wipers". I would add in Protomartyr into the mix somewhere.
