So I read the 11th Dog Man book twice,, n actually…
it’s fucking garbage.
spoilers n shit below so umm,,, yeah (i think)
the whole story itself just felt like filler to the actual plot, mostly because it revolves about the return of the FLEAS. some chapters (like the chief and nurse date scenes) should really be better as mini comics on like the Dav Pilkey site or whatever really.
The FLEAS in general are really just filler villians, since they were just there on their first appearance in the 5th book (lord of the fleas). They barely contributed to Petey’s backstory bc all they did was like do silly shit that got them into trouble n stuff.
From when I read Mothering Heights, They really put a drastic vision about Petey’s backstory about his relationship with his mother more than the FLEAS. I was honestly expecting alot more about Petey’s angst or maybe Dog Man’s realization about the other half of him (Greg thinking abt Officer Knight or something).
Most importantly, none of the characters got actual character development. Sure Cheif and Nurse are engaging in a relationship, but everyone else still remains the same. Lil’ Petey and Molly still remain obnoxious, like if the entire plot of the dog man series like only happened in weeks. The FLEAS were just there like any regular villian passing by like the past books, and Petey just getting tired about everyone dissing on him, even though he has been punished for his actions long ago (not Petey’s fault btw).
Overall, Dog Man: Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea is nothing but a big filler comic like the cat kid comic club series, and I do not recommend that you buy it.
If you have any counterarguments, feel free 2 ramble abt ur thoughts on this post lawl,,
